Over 1.5m Viewers Tuned Into Rose Of Tralee TV Shows This Year

Rose of Tralee Jennifer Byrne reacts to her name being called out on Tuesday night.

THE net number of viewers who tuned into the Rose of Tralee TV shows over Monday and Tuesday night exceeded 1.5m.

According to RTE, a peak audience of over 700,000 tuned in on Tuesday night to see Offaly Rose Jennifer Byrne crowned the Rose of Tralee.

The announcement by host Dáithí Ó Sé drew a peak of 720,800 viewers, or 66 per cent of people watching television at the time in Ireland.

On the RTÉ Player, there were 55,000 live streams serviced over the two nights. This is an increase of 22 per cent on the 2016 figure.

“The shows were fast-paced and a lot of fun from start to finish,” said Dáithí Ó Sé. “The Roses were fantastic and made my two nights of hosting the Rose of Tralee very easy.”
