THE GAA has postponed tonight’s Kerry v Mayo Allianz Football League Division 1 clash until Sunday.
The match has been called off tonight for safety reasons with a Status Orange wind warning in place in Mayo today.
It’s possible that some Kerry supporters going to the game today would have had to go through Clare and Galway during the times of 1pm and 4pm when a Status Red warning is in effect in those counties.
The game will go ahead at Elverys MacHale Park, Castlebar at 1pm which means a very early start for fans travelling tomorrow. Many Kerry fans have taken to social media to vent their anger that the decision was not made sooner as some supporters are already on the road.
The game is postponed until 1pm tomorrow

Bit of a joke for supporters travelling up on buses & cars, why not just make the call yesterday, everyone knew what was coming except the lads with deep pockets I guess !!! https://t.co/oezUeLcubu

Another one of those rules where the whole thing isn’t trashed out, how about a motion that the GAA actually bring in procedure to cancel games not wait until the last minute, Kerry Mayo called off after Kerry supporters buses had left 🤦🏻♂️🤦🏻♂️🤦🏻♂️ #GAA

Very poor by @officialgaa to leave it so late. People were already on the road – putting fans safety at risk.
Also very unfair on the players – particularly Kerry.
Should have had a contingency plan drawn up on Weds when the storm was announced, then a call made yesterday.
