U6/U8

Great to see big numbers turning at both age groups and everyone having fun.  Training continues on Friday evenings from 5:30-6:30.

U10

Our U10s had a great training session in the sunshine on Saturday evening. Check out the photos on our Facebook page. Training continues on Saturday from 5:30-6:30. Any change in time will be notified to parents and will also be on our Facebook page.

U12

Our 2 U12 teams travelled to Cordal on Sunday evening for their first games of the year.

Our 12As had a great start to the league with a hard fought away win over Cordal.  Down 5-05 to 4-04 at half time, the 2nd half started much like the 1st and Cordal pushed out their lead. We fought back and with 5 minutes to go the game was level. Some super defending and cute forward play pushed us over the line for a 3pt win. Well done to all players. Final score 5-12 to 5-09.

Our U12Bs had their first outing of the year against Cordal. It was a special occasion as we welcomed our Ballyheigue players for the first time and what a great addition they were to our team.

After a slow start, Ardfert came back into the game with a goal from Monty and point from Alan  and were only trailing by a point at half time. Cordal took advantage of the half time break to regroup and scored 2 quick goals at the start of the 2nd half.

Ardfert then hit a purple patch with goals from Cillian and a brilliant finish from Rory.

Rory then followed up a great point. Cordal finished stronger and won the game but it was a great performance by the Ardfert boys on their first outing of the year.

Training continues on Thursday evening from 6:00-7:15pm. Home game next Sunday, 26th V St. Senans. Time tbc.

U14

Training continues on Saturday evening 4-5pm. League games are due to start soon

U16

The U16s played their first league game of the season away to Ballymacelligott on Monday evening. Their next game is at home to Kerins O’Rahillys on Monday next, 27th @ 7pm.  The final game in the group is at home to Austin Stacks on Monday 3rd August. Training continues on Wednesday, 7-8pm.

Minors

Our minors played in the first round of the revised county league on Friday night against Glenflesk. Playing against the wind in the first half we fell behind by 5 points but a spectacular goal by EarnánFerris brought us back into the game.  3 goals either side of half time put us on the back foot but the team showed great character in reducing the deficit to 4 points with 15 mins to go.  The game was abandoned at this point due to an injury to a Glenflesk player.  We wish Emmett a speedy recovery. Special thanks to Niamh Brosnan & Shane Griffin who attended to Emmett. Lots of photos courtesy of Glenflesk on our Facebook page.

Training continues on Wednesday 8-9pm.

Seniors

The Seniors team is drawn against Castleisland Desmonds in the first round of the Kerry Petroleum Intermediate Club Championship. The game will take place in Mountcoal on Sunday next, 26th July. Due to Covid 19 attendance is limited and entry is by e-ticket only. The best of luck to the players and management.
