ACADAMH NA nÓG
Congrats to John Ahern, U8 Boys who was the winner of our Late Late Toy Show goodie boxes from the Sugar Shack.

Our Juvenile Academy is going to kickstart the countdown to Christmas with a small Christmas treat.
There will be names drawn daily from December 1st to December 24th to see who wins something from our Advent calendar. Every girl and boy in our academy will be entered in a daily draw in the lead up to Christmas.
Best of luck to everyone!

Kathy will be stepping down as juvenile secretary at the end of this year. She will be taking up the role of Coiste Na nÒg secretary which is both a huge honour for Kathy and the juvenile club and so well deserved.
Kathy has been absolutely amazing over the last number of years and she has been a pleasure to work with. She will be sadly missed but never far away. Thank you Kathy for everything.

We welcome Claire Walsh who will be our new incoming secretary. Claire and her family have been involved with Strand Road for decades. Best wishes to you Claire and we are all looking forward to working with you.

Our coaches have put in a lot of time and effort into the training of our girls and boys as always. We thank each of you and acknowledge your efforts ensuring the safe return of the children’s coaching sessions in difficult conditions during the Covid pandemic.

Thank you to everyone who was able to make the guard of honour for Marie Nix. It was wonderful to see her original U8 / U10 Girls team there to bid her farewell. Many girls from our ladies club joined in also.

A special thank you also to Donagh and our Minors who also formed a guard of honour and were very smart looking in their club colours. Well done lads!

CHRISTMAS
Just a reminder that Christmas is going to be tough for many of our members and wider community. Many people will struggle with loneliness or may just need a little assistance to prepare for Christmas.
Please reach out if you are struggling or know someone who may need help.

MINDING YOUR WELL-BEING
A new video based mental well-being programme called ‘ Minding Your Wellbeing’ is now freely accessible. Brought to you by the HSE Health and Wellbeing, this evidence based programme provides a unique opportunity for people to learn more about mindfulness, gratitude, self care and resilience.

As we continue to adapt our lifestyles to deal with Covid-19 and are faced with different challenges, ‘ Minding Your Wellbeing’ aims to provide simple tools and guidances to develop and maintain a possible outlook by looking after our mental health and wellbeing .

This programme focuses on the promotion of mental wellbeing and has been adapted from a face to face programme into a series of short online videos for the public at this time.
It’s free to access any time so why not watch one of the videos.

NÓTAÍ NA mBAN
Many of our young ladies formed a guard of honour for Marie Nix last Monday outside St. Brendan’s Church following her requiem Mass. Marie touched the lives of everyone she coached and worked with during her years in Strand Road.
Marie was so loving and loved by everyone and messages are still being sent to us about what a wonderful lady she was and the respect and love each girl had for Marie. We will always remember you Marie.

Congrats to our club Juvenile secretary Kathy on her appointment as Coiste Na nÓg secretary.
Kathy has looked after most of our ladies as they went through the juvenile club. Thank you for everything Kathy and it’s been great working with you. Kathy has always been on hand for advice and assistance.
We welcome and wish the best of luck to Claire Walsh who will be the incoming juvenile secretary. Claire is also doing the Club2gether programme with us.
