Div 1 County League Rd 4
An Ghaeltacht 1-13. Kerins O Rahillys 1-15
The senior team travelled to West Kerry on Saturday evening last for round 4 of the Division 1 County League.
On what was a glorious evening for football in Gallarus we managed to keep our unbeaten run intact with an impressive victory over the home side.
The game opened with the hosts racing into a two point lead, until a close in Jack Savage free settled the visitors.
This was quickly followed by two points from Jack Savage , one from a placed ball to leave us trailing by the minimum at the first half water break.
On resumption Karl Mullins made a driving run through the centre of the Ghaeltacht defence which culminated with a fine finish to net , this was followed by two points from Jack Savage , following good work from the lively Barry John Keane and one from play from the same player.
We were at this stage dominating the game and held the majority of possession.
This dominance was further rewarded with a point from Cormac Coffey and another from the inform Jack Savage who was causing all sorts of problems for the opposition.
The left the score at half time 0-06 to 1-07 in favour of the blues.
Conor Hayes was introduced for the second half and was involved immediately in the action.
The home team then put a good move together and were through on goal , and would have narrowed the gap to the minimum were it not for a super save from Shane Foley in goal , who was quick off his line to save what looked like a certain goal.
From the rebound we gathered possession and quickly broke upfield with Barry John Keane kicking an excellent point to put us five ahead. This was without doubt the decisive moment in the game.
Barry John Keane put us further ahead with another point which was followed by a neatly taken score from Conor Hayes.
At this stage we were in total control and we added three more points  from the boot of Jack Savage (2F) to leave us ahead by double scores at the second half water break , 0-08 to 1-13.
An Ghaeltacht kicked over two scores of there own before we responded with a point from Gearoid Dillane .
The home side them came into the game more and had their best period of the contest adding a few points , before once again Shane Foley pulled of a good save to keep the comeback at bay.
Conor Hayes kicked our final score of the game in the 56th minute, leaving us ahead by 7 points.
An Ghaeltacht pressure finally paid off when they scored a goal late on , they finished strong adding a couple of point.
The final whistle blew with the men from Strand Road winning far more comfortably than the score line would suggest.
Impressive on the day were Shane Foley in goals, Donagh Buckley at corner back has been a real find, captain Ross O Callaghan and Patrick Begley were solid all through.
Cormac Coffey played with his usual consistency.
Shane Brosnan and Karl Mullins worked tirelessly at midfield
Up front Cian Sayers and Shane McEligott and Gearoid Dillane got on a lot of ball.
Barry John Keane had his best outing to date kicking three scores at vital times.
Once again Jack Savage was our stand out performer , and is in a very rich vain of form.
Management will be happy with the performance and the victory ,and will take great satisfaction from the fact that despite being without a number of regulars , the squad is being utilised ,  with players gaining invaluable experience which will be very beneficial as the season progresses
We now have a two week break before we play Beaufort in the final round .
