Final score Ballymacelligott 4-08 Rathmore B 2-07

Match Report.

JUNIOR C CHAMPIONSHIP FINAL

Ballymac 4:08

Rathmore B 2:08

What a privilege to see such a fast paced, clean-cut battle of a game, where both teams gave it their all in an evenly matched battle.

Both sides using their full 5 sub quota. Rathmore came out the strongest going up 1:2 to 0:2. Amy Murphy linking up well with Chloe O’Connor getting fine scores.

Ballymac came out after the water break with a bang, starting with Ellie McElligott scoring a rasper of a goal and followed quickly by a Rosin Rahilly goal. Ballymac had a strong work rate to the half time whistle which saw both teams’ level at the half 2:2 to 0:8.

Both teams lined up for the second half and it was Ballymac who fired first with the young Roisin Rahilly finding the net for the second time after a great solo run. Ballymac went on to score 1:03 unanswered points on the back of a rock-solid defensive play from Ballymac. After the waterbreak it was Ratmore again who put 1:01 unanswered. Time was running out though and Ballymacs great Corner Back Gráinne Galvin put the final score in for a Ballymac victory.

What must be said was it was fantastic to see such a massive crowd to support two wonderful teams.

Minor Football Championship S/Finals
Keane’s SuperValu Minor Championship Semi-Final:

Final Score: Mid Kerry 2-08 St Kieran’s 0-11.

Very hard luck the players on Saturday last. Two very evenly matched teams where victory could have gone either way. The future is very bright for St Kieran’s with players of this calibre. Ballymac is very proud of its 11 players who were on the panel.

Thanks to their clubs, parents, coaches and management today who have all contributed to a team that came through the initial stages of the competition with ease and just came up on the wrong side of the result on Saturday.

Coiste na nÓg.

Congratulations to all Ballymac players on the 3 winning teams Tralee CBS, Mounthawk and Gaelcholáiste Chiarrí, and hard luck to the lads with St Pat’s, ye all did the club proud on Saturday.
