PEIL FAOI 7: The U7 football finals took place in Connolly Park on Sunday last in brilliant weather….buíochas le Dia don dea-aimsir. A wonderful occasion! We had our traditional parade and sang ‘Amhrán na bhFiann’ before some of the nicest football ever was played by the most enthusiastic U7s ever! What a joy to be present!

Outstanding skill was shown by Alex, Conor, Shane, Dominique and dozens of other great players. Parents, grandparents, siblings and Rockies were highly entertained. The presentation of medals and treats for all followed! An exciting day for The Rock!

PEIL FAOI 9: At 10am on Sunday morning last in our own Connolly Park, after the players had marched around the pitch and had brightened the day further with their singing of our national anthem, we witnessed a tremendous finale to the U9 Gaelic football season….the playing of the final match in the Bracker Regan Cup competition.

After an hour of outstanding football Team D was victorious, having been greatly tested on the field of play. What enthusiasm and excitement!

The team was captained by the outstanding Rua Horan who was ably assisted by Rian Murphy, Rian Hogan, Sonny McDermott, Nathan Stanley, Kyle Lucid; Michael Broughton was also part of that panel. The losing captain Orán Maguire received the Paddy Drummond Cup and Kyle O’Flaherty was handed the Jimmy Barry Cup.

Then we had the presentation of well-deserved medals and treats for all! Lá speisialta ar an gCarraig!

PEIL FAOI 11: The U11 football finals took place in Connolly Park on Sunday last. We had an pharáid, bronnadh na mbonn agus na gcorn and, of course, treats for all!

In this end-of-season football finale we saw some great top-quality football being played….every skill in the game was exhibited: stylish pick-ups, great scoring, outstanding saves, stout defending, brilliant block-downs, high catching, accurate free-taking, pin-point passing, legitimate aggression and respect for the réiteoir! A great Sunday morning for everybody…players, parents and mentors. Well done, all!

PEIL FAOI 13: These Rock footballers are now resting after their great outing against Carraig Uí Leighin (Carrigaline) and after a great season of good football. Well done, boys! Be working on your skills until the call-up comes again….left foot, right foot, left fist, right fist, pick-up, high catch and plenty kickabouts with friends!

PEIL FAOI 15: We look forward to our final game v the Ballymac Club or the John Mitchel Club. This football championship is organised by the Tralee and St Brendan GAA Boards and is sponsored by Suits Select.
