17 New Kerry Cases, 362 More Reported Nationally

KERRY has seen a rise of 17 COVID-19 cases in the health authorities’ daily update this evening. There were two additional deaths reported nationally.

The incidence in the county over the past 14 days is now 141 per 100,000 with 209 cases confirmed in the same period.

The official number of COVID-19 cases in the county rose by one to reflect yesterday’s increase, which brings the number to 1,221 since the start of the pandemic, with today’s cases to be added tomorrow.

362 new cases over the past 24 hours were confirmed nationally by the National Public Health Emergency Team (NPHET) this evening.

90 cases in Dublin, 48 in Donegal, 34 in Limerick, 29 in Louth, 24 in Cork and the remaining 137 cases were spread across 21 other counties.

The number of people who have tested positive for the virus in the Republic of Ireland so far, now stands at 66,247.

There were two additional deaths from the virus reported this evening in Ireland — one was in October and the other is under investigation. The total number of people who have died after contracting COVID-19 is 1,965.

As of 2pm today, 280 COVID-19 patients are hospitalised, of which 38 are in ICU. There have been 21 additional hospitalisations in the past 24 hours.
