Donaghy To Captain The Rock As Pat Flanagan Joins Stephen Stack’s Backroom Team

AUSTIN Stacks GAA Club today announced their management teams for the coming season, which includes renowned former Kerry senior team strength and conditioning coach, Pat Flanagan.

An infusion of new, albeit very experienced blood, from senior right down to the minor grade sees a strong development in the Rock, in the final year before the club celebrates their centenary in 2017.

At senior level, Stephen Stack remains on as manager and has added substantially to his team for the season. Pat Flanagan, former Kerry and Cork football and Waterford hurling coach has joined in the High Performance area and will be joined by Michael Dillon as Strength and Conditioning coach.

Former Limerick Senior selector and coach, Billy Lee, fresh from helping Listowel win the North Kerry Championship, joins the team as football coach.

In a statement of the club’s increased focus towards the ongoing development of its players, 2 more highly experienced and successful players and managers are coming on board.  William Kirby is assuming the role of B team manager for the coming season and this group will be of particular importance for the club into the future.

Well known, experienced and successful coach Wayne Quillinan has taken the helm of the Minor and U21 teams for the year in another very positive development for the Austin Stacks.

Additionally, the club announced that Kerry star Kieran Donaghy will be the senior team captain for the coming year.

Liam Lynch, Austin Stacks Chairman, strongly welcomed these developments.

“We believe that these management groups can be an ongoing  cornerstone of our developing and growing club. Very strong linked in management teams are in place in this area and hopefully we will continue to have positive momentum as we head towards our Centenary in 2017,” said Liam Lynch.
