IT was a day of great excitement in Gaelscoil Mhic Easmainn on Monday as grandparents got a chance to see their beloved grandchildren at school.
Grandparents Day is celebrated as part of Catholic Schools Week and coincides with St Bridget’s Day.
All grandparents are invited to the school and are presented with a St Bridget’s cross made for them by a grandchild.
This is the third year Gaelscoil Mhic Easmainn has celebrated grandparents day which has become bigger and better attended every year, with grandparents coming from near and far to be with their grandchild or grandchildren.
Catholic Schools Week is an all-Ireland annual event which invites Catholic schools to give expression in a special way to the ethos of Catholic education. It is a celebration of Catholic schools throughout Ireland, North and South.
