A FORMER Dynamos Player played his part in a very important win for Ireland U17 as they bid to qualify for the European Championships in Azerbaijan this May.

Rian O’Sullivan started Ireland U17’s European Championships Elite Round Qualifying 3-0 victory over Montenegro in Siedlce, Poland on Wednesday.

Along with making inroads with the national side, the former Mercy Mounthawk student from Camp signed a four year contract with Brighton & Hove Albion last summer.

After Ireland lost their opening game to Serbia 2-0, a victory over Poland in their final group game is likely to seal their place in the 12 team finals.

That final group game against the hosts is tomorrow at 5pm. Ireland are level on three points with Poland with an identical goals for and against.

At U17 level there are three stage teams must go through before they qualify for the European finals.
