Dingle Way Challenge 2016

The Dingle Way Challenge will take place on Sunday the 5th of June. Come and experience the stunning scenery of West Kerry and the Atlantic Ocean as you walk along the most westerly peninsula in Europe, overlooking the Blasket Islands and Skellig Rock and also savour the magic of Inch Beach.

Once again there is something for everyone – from a single 11km stage along the world famous ‘Macha na bó’ trail, through to the full 57km Ultra route which incorporates mountains, beaches and paths.

The scenery you will experience is unrivalled. As usual meals are provided, including a BBQ in Blennerville upon completion. Early registration is encouraged as one section of the walk is guided, so numbers must be restricted. You can register online at

Juvenile Academy

U6’s: Our team made the short trip to Camp where we played against Annascaul on a beautiful Sunday morning. Everyone involved had fun and it was a delight to spot a lot of talent on display.

U8’s: Well done to our u 8s who played Annascaul in Camp on Sunday last.  This was another excellent team performance for this team of emerging stars. Training continues on Sunday next at 10.30am and our next blitz is on Wednesday, May 25th in Churchill at 7pm.

U10’s: St Pats U-10’s played a Fun Go Game last Sunday against our West Kerry neighbours Annascaul in Camp last Sunday. On a beautiful summers morning all our St Pats players performed very well. Diarmuid Waugh and Fionn Dairo covered every blade of grass and made some great runs at the the Annascaul defence.

Daniel Sheehy, Zach Howarth and Eddie Stack caught and cleared every ball that came their way out of defence while up front our forward line of Rory Kelliher, Orlaith Murphy, Mark O’Brien and Grainne Breen were all unstoppable and they all got great scores for their team.

We have a Go Games Blitz against the St Brendan’s club this Wednesday the 18th of May at 7pm in Churchill pitch The Spa. It is very important that ye continue to practice yer skills at home during the week. Naomh Padraig Abu.

U12’s: We played Gneeveguilla in phase 2 of the county league last Sunday. This was a very entertaining game with the visiting team proving to have that bit extra as they narrowly ran away with victory on a scoreline of St Pats 5-7 Gneeveguilla 5-9. We are away to Castleisland Desmonds this Sunday the 22nd in the County League. Throw in is at 6pm.

U14’s: St Pats u14’s travelled to Mountcoal on Wednesday last for the final of the county league and took on a very strong Moyvane team!

It was a tough game and our boys didn’t perform to their full potential and that’s when things started to go wrong for St Pats on the night. Having said that, they showed great heart throughout the game but it just wasn’t their day and Moyvane managed to create scores easier than us.

There were some outstanding performances by Gavin Doody in goals who saved St Pats on numerous occasions.  Cormac Lynch in a new position of full back did very well along with Dylan Griffin who never gave up.

Jamie O’Brien ran himself into the ground and had a hard job marking a very strong Moyvane player, who was arguably their best player. All in all it was a tough day at the office for this bunch of players who played so well last week.

Our backs of Cormac Lynch, Michael Doody, Dylan Griffin, Niall McCarthy and Samuel Abubaker all tried very hard and had some very tough opposition. Our midfield of Darragh Moriarty and Jamie O’Brien both did Trojan work and covered every inch of the pitch.

Our forward of Colin Doody, Tomas O’Sullivan, Danny Greaney, Oisin Tobin and Nathan Moriarty picked off a few good scores between them but again came up against a strong defence. Overall Moyvane were a bit too strong for our lads and things just didn’t go right on the night for them.

We had some great performances over the course of the league, so heads up boys and let’s look forward to Feile now.

This team will go far and we will see some wear the green and gold colours no doubt in the coming years!

Girls: Our girls had a good turn out last Friday under the guidance of Denis Healy. Everyone who attended had lots of fun learning new skills. Training continues this Friday at 2.30pm.

Seniors

With the county senior football championship games at the weekend, most of the players on our senior panel had a bit of a breather but training continues at the usual time and day.

Our next match is in Blennerville on Sunday, the 29th of May when we welcome St Seanan’s in the senior football league. Throw-in is at 2pm.
