Wish Day Kerry

Irene Timmins and Emma Horgan launch Wish Day in Kerry which takes place on Friday, April 8.

PEOPLE in Kerry are being asked to give a few hours of their time to volunteer on Wish Day, which takes place on Friday, April 8, with up to 50 volunteers are needed on the day.

To date, 80 children from Kerry have had their wishes come through with Make-A-Wish Ireland since the organisation started in Ireland in 1992.

Each year, the organisation ensures that wishes are granted to children who are battling life threaten medical conditions such as cancer, brain tumours, cystic fibrosis, heart disease, muscular dystrophy, cerebral palsy and many others.

Make-A-Wish is 100% funded through donations and fundraising and to support the ongoing work with children from Kerry and throughout Ireland, Make-A-Wish need the help of volunteers in Kerry to keep the great work going.

Irene Timmins Head of Fundraising for Make-A-Wish said, “On Wish Day, Friday 8th April, volunteers throughout Kerry will be raising awareness for the work of Make-A-Wish while also helping to raise funds through the sale of beautifully designed badges.”

“A successful Wish Day will enable us to grant more wishes to children living with life-threatening medical conditions. We have brave children on our waiting list from Kerry and with the support of people from throughout the community, Make-A-Wish can grant the wishes to these deserving children,” she said.
