IT’S expected the weather will be fine for the annual Tony O’Donoghue walk which will take place this Saturday, September 7 at 5pm from the Blennerville Windmill Car Park.

Thanks to the huge generosity of the local people and beyond they have raised over €45,000 in fundraising  in the event since Tony ( Todd) has died. This is the 5th year of the walk which was started by St Pat’s football club a few weeks after he passed away.

Tony was involved in the club for over 50 years both as a player and in the management team and did huge fundraising over the years.

The walk will start at 5pm from the the windmill carpark and will go back the canal walk and will turn right at the lock gates to come back to the Village via the back of Lohercannon down by Hare Street.

There will be music in Skelper Quanes after and Tom Quane will provided refreshments after the walk. This year for the first time there will be medals for all who take part. This promises to be a great evening and it’s hoped to raise more much needed funds for the Palliative Care Unit and the Kerry Hospice Foundation.
