A Host Of Events Planned For Culture Night Around Tralee

THERE’S just two sleeps until Culture Night returns to Kerry on Friday, September 17.

And with 40 free events to celebrate the rich and diverse creativity that is alive and treasured throughout the Kingdom, it’s worth looking at what’s on around Tralee.

Kerry County Council Arts Office has been busy organising a very special programme of events to bring people together again to celebrate theatre, live music, literature and the arts in all its glorious forms.

Siamsa Tíre will throw open its doors for a night of celebration featuring acclaimed Kerry musicians Conor Moriarty and Sean Kelliher.

Backstage tours to discover where the magic is made coupled with traditional music and craic will continue long into the darkness for a night to remember.

The Welcoming Project with Catherine Young Dance has produced a film capturing the essence and beauty of the community of newcomers to Kerry, sharing their talents and thoughts and stressing the importance of coming together.

It Takes a Village is a project epitomising diversity and inclusion in our County and will be streamed on Culture Night.

The Rose Hotel will host an evening of poetry featuring performing poets, Victoria Kennefick, Chiamaka Enyi-Amadi and Liz Quirke. For children and young people, there will be Art Jamming at the KDYS, while Me + the Moon will run art workshops in Collis Sandes House.

Kerry County Museum will feature a special exhibit from St John of God’s talented young people, entitled Wah-Na-Be.

Kerry Film Festival will hold an outdoor screening of a selection of short films and there are free online workshops to suit all ages and interests.

Origami with Rebecca Lyons, acting workshops with Rayla Tadjimatova, open-mic poetry with Maire Holmes and Rap and Hip Hop with Music Generation Kerry are all available to pre-register.
