A BALLYBUNION man was amused this week when he got a tweet from a Home And Away favourite.
Tommy Walsh from Ballybunion, a relative newcomer to Twitter, checked his social media to find a message from Lynne McGranger, who plays Irene on the Aussie soap.

However, it turns out Lynne, a massive Sydney Swans fan, obviously had the wrong Tommy Walsh, and meant it for the Kerry star who left the Aussie Rules club to return to the Kingdom last year. TraleeToday.ie’s Gavin O’Connor set Lynne straight though…

This isn’t the first time it’s happened to the Ballybunion Tommy, who has been confused with another famous sportsman who bears his name and gained a number of followers from Kilkenny when he joined Twitter. Maybe it’s time to add a profile pic Tommy!

Just read your very charming article. @tommywalshkor and I have been Twitter mates for quite a few years – ever since we co – judged The St Patrick’s day parade batchelor of the year!! Hadn’t seen anything from him for ages so when I saw that @TommyWalsh had followed me I just assumed it was my ex Swannies mate back on Twitter. Really must give up the grog!!!!:)) Cheers xx
