MILLTOWN Listry Comhaltas is inviting traditional music lovers to join them for a special event this Saturday night.

The idea came about as ‘Rambling houses’, like many other popular social events, have taken a hit this year.

Rambling Houses take their inspiration from the open-door tradition in rural Ireland and bring musicians, singers, dancers, storytellers and entertainers of all kinds together for a night of “craic agus brack”.

Many will miss these gatherings, so Milltown Listry Comhaltas has been inviting local musicians to record and forward their performances and these will go live on Saturday night as a ‘Virtual Rambling House’.

They invite all to join them at 8pm on Saturday, December 12. You can find the link through the Milltown Listry Facebook page by clicking here.

Chairman Turlough O’Brien said; “we did not want the event side-lined and we know how much people enjoy this event, so we felt it was important to prevail despite the restrictions.”

The Milltown-Listry Branch appeal to all to reach out to people who mightn’t be able to access the event online.

“If you know someone who’d enjoy this but can’t use the necessary devices, please try to provide for them”, added Branch PRO, Chris Horan.  “The event will be on youtube, so if you can’t watch on Saturday night, you can catch up anytime.”
