Deputy Michael Healy Rae officially launches the details of the Abbeydorney Vintage Weekend at the GAA grounds on Thursday.

MICHAEL Healy Rae officially launched details of the Abbeydorney Vintage Weekend last Thursday evening at Abbeydorney GAA Grounds.

This year’s two day event, on August 8-9, kicks off with registration at 5pm on the Saturday, for the Vintage and Classic Car and Tractor Run.

All vehicles will set off from the Vintage Field in the village at 5.30pm with the routes to be revealed on departure.

 

There will be pit-stops along the scenic routes for refuelling and light refreshments. Both the vintage cars and tractors are expected to arrive back in the village at 8pm, when prizes for Best Vintage Tractor and Best Vintage/Classic Car will be presented the worthy recipients.

All participants will receive a plaque marking their involvement in the event. A BBQ and live music will keep the participants and spectators entertained long into the night.

On Sunday, August 9, the vintage show will get underway at 12 noon with an action-packed day of activities and entertainment for all the family.

Events and Activities include: Trade Stands, Auto-Jumble, Tug-of-war, Threshing, Fun Fair, Dog Show, Fire Engine Rides, Live Music and lots more. Over 180 cars and tractors will be on display on the day.

It is sure to be an enjoyable day for everyone and proceeds from this year’s event will go to the Nano Nagle School in Listowel.
