THE IT Tralee Sci-fan Society is putting on a one of a kind event for the public this Sunday.
The society is bringing CúKon to Kerry for the first time. The event will be held in the Abbey Inn from 11am – 6pm. There are no pre-booked tickets for CúKon. Just come along and pay at the door. Entry is €5 for adults and free for children under the age of 7.
The day will bring together competitors, participants and traders in Magic, Cosplay, Smash Ultimate, Board Gamers, the fantastic board game groups: The Tralee & Listowel Board Knights and guests.

Participants are encouraged to dress up as their favourite characters from pop culture. Great examples of Cosplay often come from fan favourite series, like Harry Potter, Game of Thrones, Star Wars and Star Trek.
But any character, real or fabricated, will be considered for a top spot in the Cosplay Competition. Any kids are encouraged to join in as well, but all children must be accompanied by an adult during the day.
Currently announced vendors include: T.C.G Kerry, Commane Book Merchant, Techneek, The Dragon Kingdom Comics, HeyHorrible.
The timetable at present is as follows, but as with all conventions of this type it may be subject to change.
11.00 am – 6.00 pm Vendors
11.00 am – 2.00 pm Cosplay Competition Sign Ups
12 noon – Cosplay Panel
1.00 pm – Smash Ultimate
2.30 pm – Cosplay Competition
4.00 pm – Magic the Gathering – Commander Tournament Competition
5.00 pm – Board Games with friends
6.00 pm – Closing
Prizes will be awarded for first, second and third place winners of the Cosplay Competition, and for first, second and third place winners of the Magic: The Gathering – Commander Competition.
