Captain Beano Donovan and family with the N.K. Hurling League Cup

INTER-COUNTY : Brendan O’Leary and James O’Connor were part of the Kerry team that were defeated by Westmeath in the Joe McDonagh Cup last Sunday afternoon in Austin Stacks Park. Final Score : Westmeath 2-12 Kerry 0-15.

They are away to Meath in the next round on Saturday, 2nd June @ 3.00pm in Páirc Tailteann, Meath. Jack Sheehan and Jack Parker were part of the Kerry U17 squad that defeated Clare Saffrons in the Celtic Challenge Cup played last Wednesday evening on a scoreline of Kerry 1-22 Clare Saffrons 2-15. They will play North Cork, this Wednesday evening @ 7.30pm in Dromakee, Crotta. Best of luck boys.

CÚL CAMPS : Hurling Cúl Camp will take place in Abbeydorney from 23rd to 27th July. Cost is €60 per child with with reductions for additional members of families. Open to primary school children, boys and girls between 6 and 13 years of age. Monday’s to Friday’s, 10.00a.m. – 2.30p.m. daily. Further details at www.kelloggsculcamps.gaa.ie.

U8 Team that won all their games at Blitz in Crotta recently.

U6/U8 : There was a great turnout on Sunday morning when our U6s had their first action of the season against Crotta and Kilmoyley. They had 2 enjoyable games of hurling with some great skill on display. Well done to all the players and their coaches. Our U8s are in action again this Friday evening (25th) @ 6.30pm in Abbeydorney.

U10 Team that played Kilmoyley last Sunday morning

U10 : Our U10 team played Kilmoyley last Sunday morning in Abbeydorney. Kilmoyley were the stronger team on this occasion but our players put in a great performance. Team : David Buckley, Adam Hogan, Matt Griffin, Rian Walsh, Tadhg Hegarty, Liam Maunsell, Josh Peevers, Maurice Costello, Tom Slattery, Daniel Nolan, Aaron Donovan, Cian Mangan, Sean O’Connell, Luke Clifford, Fionn Lawlor. Next games will be this Wednesday evening(23rd) in Abbeydorney against Crotta O’Neills and Rathmore @ 7.00pm.

U11 : The U11s are away to Ballyheigue on Friday evening(25th) in the opening round of the North Kerry League. This game is at 7.00pm in Ballyheigue.

U12 : Our U12s were due to play Rathmore last Friday evening in the final Co. League game but it was postponed and is now re-scheduled for this Wednesday evening @ 7.00pm in Abbeydorney.

U14 : We played Crotta O’Neills last Saturday evening in the Co. League. Despite the best efforts of our boys, Crotta O’Neills were the stronger team and went on to secure victory on a scoreline of Crotta O’Neills 4-11 Abbeydorney 1-09. We held our Féile Skills competition last this Mon(14th) evening to determine who will would forward to represent the club at the Co. Féile Skills competition. Peter Hinchliffe came out on top and went on to represent the club on Thurs, 17th May in John Mitchel’s GAA Complex. Peter put up an impressive score on the evening but was out of the Top 3 placings.

U15 : Our U15s will participate in County U15 10-a-side Blitz in John Mitchels GAA Complex on Tuesday, 22nd @ 7.00pm along with Crotta O’Neills and Tralee Parnells.

Abbeydorney Senior Team that won the N.K. League Title last Friday evening

SENIORS : Our Senior team captured the North Kerry Hurling League title last Friday evening in Kilmoyley.  Beano Donovan accepted the Sonny Harris Cup on behalf of his team, from Joe Walsh of the NKHB. Well done to the team and management. Our success continued over the weekend. In Round 6 of the Senior Co League, we played St. Brendan’s, Ardfert in Abbeydorney on Sunday evening. Final Score : Abbeydorney 1-18 St. Brendan’s Ardfert 1-14.
