Abrakebabra In Tralee Shuts Due To High Insurance Costs

THERE’S sad news today that a well-known fast food restaurant in town has had to shut its doors.

Abrakebabra at Tralee Shopping Centre on Bridge Street has been operating for 22 years in town, but due to high insurance costs, it has been forced to shut since last Friday.

Speaking to Radio Kerry, Cllr Terry O’Brien, whose sister in law Sandra owns the business, said she can’t get a realistic quote from an insurance company and was quoted €30,000 this year, almost triple what they paid last year.

He said the owner would love to re-open if they were able to get a proper quote, but it has to close now with the loss of ten jobs. It’s a huge blow for the families involved and the town centre.

Is this cover for an insurance or extortion policy?

A business should not have to fail or a young person should not be forced to stop driving due to excessive insurance costs.

The corrupt lobbied political class needs to place regulated price hike restrictions on the insurance industry in the Banana republic of Ireland! 🙁
