Actress With Tralee Link For Hollywood Movie

A DINGLE actress, whose father hailed from Tralee, has landed the female lead in Hollywood movie.

Charlotte Peters will star as the lead in ‘A Winter’s Dream’ which begins shooting in this month.

The actress is the daughter of Susan and the late Joseph O’Connor who hailed from Ard Na Lí in Oakpark. Charlotte took the stage name, Peters, after her paternal grandfather, Peter O’Connor, from Tralee.

The 27-year-old trained as an actress in London and in the last year has completed a tour of Great Britain with the comedy play ‘The 39 Steps’ in the lead female role.

She then went on to do a film, ‘The Pound Of Flesh’, co-starring with Jean Claude Van Damme in China, due out in February, and has now been offered the film in Los Angeles.

In addition to her acting skills Charlotte is a fluent French speaker a very skilled horse woman a Montessori and English teacher, which supplements her acting career as all actors need to be able to do.

Charlotte has studied special needs teaching with a particular interest in motor neuron function in Down’s syndrome children. So when not acting her vocation and interest is helping children to be well and to give them the tools to express themselves and consequently improve the quality of their lives enabling them to integrate into mainstream life with other children.

She really wanted to run the Dublin marathon this year but will now not be available, but looks forward to running next year…if she has time of course!
