A TRALEE man has won a trip of a lifetime to the US Masters in Augusta with Paddy Power this weekend.

Aidan Teahon, who is floor manager at Kirby’s Brogue Inn, entered a competition with the Paddy Power Rewards Club and was notified this week that he won the competition for two people to travel to the prestigious major in Georgia.

He will take his wife Eilish (who might even sport the Kerry jersey on the course) on the trip this Friday. “She’s fierce excited about it,” Aidan told Deirdre Walsh on the Radio Kerry ‘Talkabout’ show this afternoon.

The trip will include flights and accommodation, entry to the Members club for two days (Saturday and Sunday), a €1,000 bet on the event and $1,000 spending money.

He was notified by a representative of Paddy Powers that he won the trip this week. Initially, Aidan didn’t believe him and contacted the company directly, who confirmed he was indeed the winner.

Aidan is a big sports fan and plays a bit of golf himself. He will use the €1,000 free bet for a €500 each way shot on Jon Rahm at 16/1.

Of course, with such a busy job in Kirby’s Brogue Inn, the win caught his employers Fiona and Kevin Cotter off guard. “I won’t repeat on air what they said!,” joked Aidan on the show. “No, they were delighted to give me the time off, especially at short notice.”

So we’ll have to tune in at the weekend to see if we can spot Aidan or Eilish wearing the green and gold on the famous course! Enjoy the trip guys!
