Kerry County Council has advised that from next Monday, June 8th, all Civic Amenity sites around the county will fully reopen for business.
The Civic Amenity sites in Kerry had reopened on a phased basis since Monday, May 18th, but were only accepting domestic black bag waste and recycling at the depots as well as cardboard and glass and cans at Bottle Banks.
However, in line with the Roadmap for Reopening Society & Business and having assessed the lifting of the travel limit from 5km to 20km, as well as activity levels, it is intended that the Civic Amenity Centres will resume normal activities next Monday June 8th.

This includes accepting trailers as well as Waste Electrical and Scrap Metal at Civic Amenity sites in addition to the domestic waste and recyclables outlined above.
Customers will continue to be advised that delays may be experienced to ensure that social distancing is maintained on all sites. The current queuing system in place for customers to enter the sites will remain in place with ground markings at 2m intervals. Traffic Management arrangements will remain in place as well.
Given the likely customer numbers presenting at our sites on restoration to full service, all sites will open for full days on Monday and Thursday of next week to ensure queuing and social distancing can be maintained.
This includes the Civic Amenity Sites in Cahirciveen and Dingle which would normally be closed on a Monday will be open and these sites will also remain open on Thursday afternoon.
The proposed Phased restoration of services above will be kept under regular review and may be adjusted subject to any Government/Public Health advice and guidance as we move forward
