THE new Kerry Rose is Julett Culloty from Kilcummin.
Julett was delighted and shocked to hear her name called out by host Dáithí Ó Sé on Saturday night in the Ballyroe Heights Hotel.
Hundreds packed the venue where Dáithí interviewed all the contestants who all gave stellar performances on stage, but in the end, the judges – 1989 Rose of Tralee Sinead Boyle, Dr George Phillip of the Bons Secours Hospital and 2011 Dublin Rose Siobheal Nic Eochaidh – decided on Julett, who is sponsored by John Buckley Plant Hire.
Julett who is 25, and from Kilcummin is a social care worker. Having graduated from I.T. Tralee in 2011 she has worked in a number of different projects across Munster working with disadvantaged children and children in care.
In her spare time Julett enjoys football, soccer, music and walking. Julett’s ambition and goal is to raise awareness of cervical cancer in younger women, after being diagnosed with the illness herself last year.
We’ll have many photos from the night on Sunday and Monday.
