ARDFERT National School has launched its ‘Night At The Dogs’ Fundraiser which will be held on Saturday, June 15.

Plans are now well underway for what organisers are promising will be the Ardfert community’s night of the year.

Chief Organiser, Helena Clifford of the Parents’ Association said; “Preparations began before Christmas with the formation of a committee comprising of parents and staff. The selling of tickets continues and the committee would like to thank all those who bought tickets and supported the school.  The committee is very grateful to its very generous sponsors and wishes to thank Declan Dowling of the Dog Track for all his help and support.

There will be 10 races on the night and there will be a novelty children’s relay race.  Face-painting will add to the colour of the evening and the Bouncy Castle will add to the excitement for the children.

A raffle for fabulous prizes will be held and of course there will be Best Dresse Lady and Best Dressed Gent competitions.

There will be live music entertainment upstairs after the racing. Donal O’Flaherty of O’Flaherty Coaches, Doon, will provide a free shuttle service from Ardfert Village to the Dog Track that evening and a return service to the Village when it’s over.   Tickets are available from the school or at the track entrance on the night.

  1. Why do people continue to support an Industry where dogs are ill treated and killed due to injuries sustained at the track….and exporting those who should be living out the rest of their lives in a loving home but instead are exported to China and Pakistan where there’s no Animal welfare
