Our 12As played a super game in poor conditions on Sunday evening in Ardfert against a very good St. Senans side.

Playing against a strong wind in the first half, we found it difficult to score and trailed at the half.  We rallied and fought hard to narrow the gap in the second half with some well taken scores but it wasn’t enough.

Final score on the night Ardfert 2-09 St. Senans 2-13.

Our U12 B’s were out for their second game of the series Sunday evening against St. Senans. It was their first home game of the season and it was great to see so many out supporting the team. With a strong breeze blowing straight down the pitch, the elements were always going to play a big part in this game. With that in mind, Captain Rory decided to play against the wind in the first half. As anticipated St. Senans started off strongly with a couple of goals and a few points. Our boys then put together some nice passing moves with points from Cillian, Dylan, Monty and Alan. In what was a difficult half for the defenders, JP in goal was having a great game and David and Eoghan were putting in some great clearances with Tiernan having a fantastic game in the half back line. Alan and Cillian were also doing great work in midfield. As the half came to an end, Max pulled a ball from the skies, turned and finished to the net.

Although trailing at half time, the boys knew they were in with a chance with the wind in the second half. Tiernan moved to midfield and himself and Cillian began to dominate with Alan sweeping up in defense. Monty scored a great goal, followed by another 2 from Max, one from Cillian and 1 from Rory. Some great points followed from Cillian, Rory, Monty and Dylan. Graham continued to show some great touches and is the team’s most improved performer. In the end, St. Senans won by the narrowest of margins but was another good performance by the boys.

Training continues on Thursday evening from 6:00-7:15pm. Home game next Sunday, 2nd August.

Best of luck to our representatives on the St. Brendan’s Board team who play in the Minor Championship on Monday next.

Seniors

The Senior team faced Castleisland Desmonds in the first round of the Kerry Petroleum Intermediate Club Championship on Sunday in Mountcoal.  Unfortunately, we were beaten on a scoreline of 2-14 to 2-08.  The best of luck as they travel to Laune Rangers for the second round on Saturday evening at 7pm. Again, due to Covid 19 restrictions, attendance is limited and entry is by e-ticket only.
