Seniors

In a highly entertaining game played in JP O’Sullivan Park, Killorglin on Saturday evening, we lost out by the narrowest of margins to Laune Rangers in round 2 of the Intermediate Championship. The lads can take a lot of positives from the performance. They face Rathmore at home on Saturday evening at 7pm.

Again, due to Covid 19 restrictions, attendance is limited and entry is by e-ticket only.

CONDOLENCES

We were saddened to hear of the passing of Liam O’ Riordan Sackville. A proud Dub, he is father and father in law to the clubs most infamous stalwarts Marie & Seanie Griffin.

Grandfather to Shane former senior player and now our Senior football manager & great grandfather to Jamie another loyal senior player and grandfather-in-law to Martin Deady, former player now selector.

We would like to extend our deepest sympathies to them, his other daughter Ann & partner Con, his son Christopher & daughter in law Mary, his grand-daughters Sonya, Serena, Aoife & Ashling, his great grand-children and his great great-grandson Kai.

To His 2 remaining siblings Noreen and extended Griffin, O Riordan and Lawlor families. He is pre deceased by his beloved wife Ellen who only passed away in Feb of this year and his most precious Andrea RIP who passed away 2yrs ago.

Liam played football himself and always maintained that “we were far fitter and tougher in those days” and repeated it on the night when his grandson Shane with that great victorious team came back to the village after winning the intermediate All-Ireland championship. However, we all knew he was extremely proud of Shane & all the boys on that night.  Rest in Peace Liam.
