U10

All U10s have their first game of the season away to Finuge on Wednesday, 19th August, at 6:15. It is a great opportunity for the lads to get a game under their belt. Training continues on Friday evenings from 5:30-6:30.

U12

Our two U12 teams made the long journey to An Ghaeltacht on Sunday afternoon.

U12As

We played well in the 1st half and trailed by a point at the half. An Ghaeltacht got on top for the next 15mins and the water break came at a good time for us. Down 2 goals with 12 mins to go, we started to let the ball into the forwards quickly and scored 2 great goals, we won the next few kick outs and scored some super points.

Some players even managed a swim after the game. Final score: 5-08 to 5-14

U12Bs

True grit, heart and determination are words that come to mind when describing our game against An Ghaeltacht on Sunday last in the beautiful surroundings of Gallarus.
Although beaten by two points in this epic encounter this game will be remembered for the workmanship these players showed from start to finish. Unfortunately, we were missing some players as families are on holidays etc but the boys gave it everything for the full 60 minutes. JP was a colossus in goals delivering long kicks with accuracy to the half forward line.

He was ably assisted by Dylan and Tiernan in the backs. Both players gave every ounce of energy they had throughout the game and must be commended for that. Monty and Alan were a joy to watch at midfield with their attacking runs through the middle. William on the 40 yard line scored a beautiful point when it was most needed and never gave up trying for the hour.

Our super full forward Max caught some wonderful ball and caused the Gaeltacht backs all sorts of problems. This game will benefit the boys greatly as they prepare for next Sunday’s game.   The boys were well supported by the contingent that made the long journey west for this thoroughly enjoyable game. Well done to all involved.

Training continues on Thursday from 6-7.

Next game for both teams is away to Milltown/Castlemaine in Listry next Sunday.

U14

Our U14s played their final game in Phase 1 at home against Laune Rangers on Sunday evening.  The lads put up a very good performance on the night with some great football played by both teams despite the poor conditions. However, a very strong Laune Rangers team came away with the points.

We will play in Division 2A in Phase 2 which begins on Wednesday 19th with a home game against Castleisland Desmonds. We are away to Legion on the following Wednesday, 26th and our final game in Phase 2 is at home to Listowel Emmets on 2nd September.

U16

The U16s will play Austin Stacks at home on Monday 17th August in their final Phase 1 game. Training times will be sent by text.

Minors

Our minors travelled to Castleisland Desmonds on Sunday and emerged as winners on a scoreline of Castleisland 1-11 Ardfert 2-23.

Congratulations to the St. Brendan’s Board Minors who are into the semi-final of the Minor Championship after defeating Mid Kerry on a score line of 3-16 to 0-15 on Monday last. They will face South Kerry in their last 4 clash in Killorglin on Monday, 24th August at 6pm.
