U10

Na Gaeil hosted our U10s on Thursday evening for a friendly game. The lads played some great football and the coaches were delighted with the performance and effort put in by all the players. Thanks to Na Gaeil for hosting us.

U12

Our U12As came up short against a good Finuge on Sunday afternoon in Ardfert. We trailed at the half by 4 points but felt we were still in with a good chance of winning.  Finuge came out and scored 1-2 before we could reply. We improved as the half went on but could not reduce the gap. Well done to all players.

Our U12Bs had their penultimate match of the season at home to Finuge on Sunday. Captain Rory elected to play against the wind in the first half and this was a great decision. Finuge started strong with 2 quick goals but Ardfert responded with points from Dylan and Cillian. JP was marshalling his defence brilliantly in goals and was acting as an extra defender himself by coming off his line and clearing. In front of him Thomas was putting in a great performance in the full back line and he helped steady the ship for the Ardfert team. From that platform, Ardfert were able to attack and succeeded in scoring 2 quick goals from Cillian and Max. Alan and Cillian were dominating in midfield and supplying their forwards with great opportunities as seen from the tallies of Max (2-01), Rory (1-02), Eoghan, (1-02), Dylan (1-01), Monty (0-1) as well as adding scores themselves,. Monty put in a great performance in the half forward line, covering midfield also and adding a number of great scores. Eamon and David proved to be a great partnership in the half back line with very little getting past. Luke put in another great shift playing in forwards/midfield and defence to help out his team wherever it was needed. William also had a great game putting in some fantastic challenges to prevent scores at a crucial time. Graham had a big impact in the game when introduced and showed his class with some lovely passes. Cormac played his first game at this level and had a great performance. Ardfert continued their winning ways with a 5-7 to 3-6 victory.

Training continues on Thursday from 6-7.

Final game for both teams is away V St. Senans in Mountcoal next Sunday.

Following our narrow defeat away to Killarney Legion our U14s bounced back with a convincing win against Listowel Emmets. We have another home game on Wednesday 9th against Castleisland Desmonds.

Minors

Our minors travelled to Killarney on Saturday evening and enjoyed a comfortable victory over Spa. Ardfert put up a decent lead playing against the wind in the first half and with some big performances throughout the field, we came away with the points from this county league fixture. Training continues Wednesday evening at 7pm.
