U6/U8

Training continues on Friday evenings from 5:30-6:30. Check out Ardfert GAA Facebook for photos & updates.

U10

Following our trip to Na Gaeil last week, we hosted the return fixture on Thursday evening. Another enjoyable and entertaining evening of football with great skills on display by both teams. Lots of photos of the action on Facebook. Training continues on Friday evenings from 5:30-6:30.

U12

Both our U12 teams played their last game of the season in Mountcoal on Sunday against St. Senans.

Our U12As were narrowly defeated by a St.Senans side that convincingly beat us at home in phase 1 of the league. At times we played some super football, defended well and took our chances but with 2 mins remaining and down 2 points we scored an important goal to give us the lead. St.Senans levelled shortly afterwards and the resulting kick out was won by a young Senans man who went through to score the important goal.

Our U12Bs, playing against a strong breeze in the 1st half, St. Senans pulled into a commanding lead. Despite great performances from all the boys and especially Cillian, Monty and Alan, the boys couldn’t pull back the deficit. It was a great season overall with some outstanding performances and victories and all the boys have improved as the year went on.

The coaches would like to thank the boys for their commitment throughout the year and well done to all the boys on a good season.

A special word of thanks to coaches Sean O’Shea, Kevin Wiseman, Tony O’Halloran, Cyril Wallace and our Covid officer Denis Foley.

U14

In a thrilling game on Wednesday evening we were unlucky to lose out to a strong Castleisland team.

U16

We suffered a defeat to Kerins O’Rahilly in our first game in Division 1 of the County League. Our remaining games will be played this week.  On Monday we are away to Glenflesk at 6:30pm followed by a home game on Wednesday against Laune Rangers at 6:15pm.

The Intermediate Football Championship relegation playoff against St. Marys will take place next Saturday, 19th September, in JP O’Sullivan Park, Killorglin at 4pm. Extra time and winner on the day.
