ARDFERT man Stephen Wallace is set to be the new Offaly Senior Football Manager.

The Kerry Junior All-Ireland-winning coach is to be  ratified at the next meeting of the county board.

Wallace, who also won an All-Ireland intermediate club title with Ardfert, was recommended by a committee — comprising of Chairman Tommy Byrne, Secretary Eamonn Cusack and former Offaly players Vinny Claffey, Finbar Cullen and Paul Mollen — charged with finding a replacement for Pat Flanagan, who departed the position after a three-year stint.

Stephen was most recently in charge of Tralee IT’s Sigerson Team. He managed Kerry to win All-Ireland Junior titles in 2015 and 2016, while he also managed his home club Ardfert to All-Ireland Intermediate success in 2015.
