Residents of Casement View and St Brendan’s Terrace present a cheque to Con O’Connor of Pieta House.

THE residents of Casement View and St. Brendan’s Terrace Ardfert recently organised small events adhering to social distancing guidelines to fundraise for local charities.

At 4:30am on Saturday, May 9, a small number of residents from the estates took part in a mini-social distancing Darkness into Light in aid of Pieta House Tralee, as all national events had been cancelled.

The residents also ran street bingo and raffles, all in aid of Pieta House. Horgan’s Centra in Ardfert kindly offered to take donations and sponsored a large hamper to raffle off which was won by Rosanne Daly.

As a result of all the events, a grand total of €2,070 was presented to Con O’Connor of Pieta House, Tralee.

Casement View residents are continuing with their fundraising efforts later this month with a food collection to take place in aid of The Soup Kitchen Tralee on Thursday, May 28 from 3pm – 5pm .

At the entrance of Casement view and St. Brendan’s Terrace, they are running their next bingo on behalf of this very worthy cause.  Further details of this fundraising effort can be seen on The Casement View Residents Facebook page and local media.
