ARDFERT was the place to be for sun worshippers yesterday as the village had the highest temperature recorded in Ireland.
Last night, RTE’s Nine News highlighted Ardfert’s national high temperature of 21 degrees, confirming what all ‘Ardfertians’ know already – it’s the hottest spot around.

The nation is currently enjoying a ‘mini-heatwave’ with temperatures into the high teens the norm over the past week and a half.
There are storm clouds on the horizon however.
On Friday, Met Eireann are predicting that rain will fall, but today and Thursday will remain sunny.
So while the good weather is still about over the next two days, get out and grab a cone at the home of the sun in Ireland.
