Artists Wanted To Paint Murals Around Tralee Town Centre

MURALS are to be installed in strategic locations around Tralee town centre after funding was secured for Tralee Tidy Towns through Creative Ireland.

A call out has been issued to artists to apply to paint the murals. Artists may apply as individuals, or as a group of artists submitting collaborative proposals.

“The power of public art to transform a community is undeniable,” said Joe Moynihan of Tralee Tidy Towns. “We hope to ignite conversation, foster community respect and create an atmosphere that is warm and inviting and I would encourage artists to get involved.”

Artists will be selected based on artistic design, craftsmanship, quality of design and how well the design reflects the stated theme of each mural.

Artists interested in finding out more about the initiative should email Tralee Tidy Towns at info@traleetidytowns.ie to receive a full artist’s brief containing all details needed to apply. The closing date for receipt of proposals is 5pm, August 11, 2021.
