FAOI 6/8/10: Our 2019 Acadamh na nÓg football season took off with great blasts of energy and enthusiasm on Sunday last and the mentors and coaches were well pleased with the morning’s activities. These sessions will coninue every Sunday until much finer weather and longer days will entice us to the outdoors. All the U6/8/10s are eagerly looking forward to next Sunday’s hour of football. The coaching times are as follows: (i) UNDER 6s (boys born in 2013/14) in the Mounthawk Gym at 11am; (ii) UNDER 8s (boys born in 2011/12) in the Mounthawk Gym at 12.00. (iii) UNDER 10 boys on The Green CBS Astroturf pitch at 11am.

SCÓR na nÓG: Best wishes to our club quiz team on Friday night (18th). Our lads will be in action at 7pm in the Ionad Barr Feabhais in Currans. Foireann na Carraige: Cian Puirséil, Dáithí Ó Loingsigh, Gavin Ó Dufaigh, Maitiú de Brún. Go n-éirí go geal leo. The Kerry quiz winners will go directly to the All-Ireland final a bheidh ar siúl i gCaisleán a’ Bharraigh i gContae Mhaigh Eo i Mí Feabhra.

FAOI 14: Our under 14 boys will shortly be in full training in preparation for the annual Nemo Rangers (Cork) Tournament which will be held at the end of January. Bígí ag súil le téacs.

CLUB ACTIVITIES ‘19: (i) A very well attended club AGM (juvenile section) was held in the clubhouse last week. Officers and coaches were chosen and lively discussions took place. Among the topics discussed in detail were (a) coaching policies, (b) plans for the season ahead and (c) general behaviour, manners and discipline by players, mentors and supporters on and off the field. (ii) Our juvenile leadership team for this season: Uachtarán: Mícheál Ó hAodha; Cathaoirleach: Tadhg Mac Mathúna; Leaschathaoirleach: Nollaig Ó Conaill; Rúnaí: Mícheál Ó Loingsigh; Cláraitheoir: Colm Ó Mongáin; Toscaire go Bord Thrá Lí agus go Coiste Réigiún an Láir: Seán Ó Slatara. (iii) Our 2019 mentors: Faoi 6: Mickey Collins, Tim McMahon, Jonathan Magnier, Brendan Smith; Faoi 8: Wayne Quillinan, Michael Lynch, Micko Horan, Colm Mangan, Keith McKensie, Mick O’Brien, Noel Healy; Faoi 10: Pa Laide, John Canty, Laurence Cotter, Mike McCannon; Faoi 12: Ger Power, Liam Lynch, Morgan O’Connell, Mike Casey, Shane Lynch, Dex Carmody, Ciarán Murphy, Batty Bastible, Richie Conway, Theo Ó Duigín; Faoi 13/14: William Kirby, Wayne Guthrie, Ritchie Conway, Dale Counihan, Éamonn Heaslip, Dave Scanlon, Ronan Kavanagh; Faoi 16: Denis Sayers, Pat Slattery, Edward O’Connor, Armin Heinrich, TJ Sheehan.

CORN UÍ MHUIRÍ: ‘Well done’ to The Green boys who gave a good account of themselves v Coláiste Bhréanainn, Cill Airne, on Wednesday last in the Munster quarter final. Our boys on the panel: Seán Quilter, Jordan Kissane, Tom Farrell, Daniel O’Rourke, Armin Heinrich, Conor Myers, Eoghan Carroll, Ben Quilter.

ATHCHÚRSÁIL ÉADAÍ: The club fundraising clothes’ recycling collection day/date is Saturday February 9th. We’d be grateful for all clothes’ donations. Bí ag bailiú, le do thoil, ar do luathchaoithiúlacht. If you wish to leave bags of clothes at the clubhouse beforehand, please ring 085 223 58 57.

SCÓR NA SINSEAR ‘19: The district final of Scór na Sinsear will be held in Na Gaeil clubhouse on Thursday 31st January at 8.30pm.

SCÓR NA SINSEAR ’18: Rinceoirí na Carraige who are the present county set dancing champions: Éamonn Ó Raghallaigh, Seán Ó Floinn, Maidhc Ó Muirthile, Tadhg Ó Miacháin, Siobhán Uí Chathasaigh, Bernie Uí Mhainchín, Eibhlín Mhic Ionnrachtaigh, Tracey Mhic Liam.
