A good audience enjoyed an excellent ‘show’ under the guidance of Fionnán Mac Gearailt. Bailéadghrúpa: Na Gaeil – Barra Ó Siochrú, Séamus Ó hArtaigh, Doiminic Ó Muirthile, Emily Ní Aodha, Róisín Ní Choileáin. Léiriú Stairiúil: Na Gaeil – Michelle Ní Dhúda, Seán de Búrca, Barra Ó Siochrú, Seán Mac Coisteala, Áine Ní Shúilleabháin, Dearbhla Ní Choirc, Jimí Ó Súilleabháin. The winners will perform again in the county semi-final on 7th November in Brosna. (ii) Kerry Scór na nÓg quiz competition will be run separately on Saturday 5th December sa Scoil Idirmheánach (Carnegie) i gCill Orglan.
Every club is entitled and in time to send a team of 4. Please do! It’s good fun! (iii) Clubs not participating in Scór may deprive their members of a GAA Gaeltacht scholarship (c.€170).
PEIL FAOI 6/8: Football for Under 6 and Under 8 boys reached a conclusion on Sunday last at Caherslee where the finals of the Bracker Regan, Kevin Barry and Jimmy Barry Memorial Cups were held. What football! Rogha agus togha na peile!
David Barry presented the Kevin Barry Memorial Cup for Under 8 football to winning team captain, Ronan Carroll. Brigid O’Connor, Denis O’Regan and Mary O’Regan presented the Bracker Regan Cup to the victorious Under 8 football captain, Eoghan Costello.
David and Paddy Barry presented the Jimmy Barry Memorial Cup to Barry Laide, captaen na foirne Faoi 6. Lá dár saol a bhí ann! The future of the ‘Black’n’Amber’ looks brighter than ever! Nóta: The singing of ‘Amhrán na bhFiann’ by the young footballers in Caherslee was the very best ever by our underage footballers!
PEIL FAOI 10: The inaugural John Lynch Tournament for Under 10 Football was held at Connolly Park on Sunday. 4 clubs were involved: Kilmacud Crokes, Ballymacelligott, Churchill and Na Stacaigh féin. Each club fielded 3 teams.
The John Lynch Memorial Cup was won by Kilmacud Crokes and was presented to the winning captain, Matthew Blacker, by Phil Lynch (wife of the late John Lynch) and by Liam Lynch (our vice-chairman). Our own boys won the Shield. Well done, Rockmen! Though not reaching the top spots, Ballymac and Churchill performed admirably.
PEIL FAOI 11: On Saturday next our boys will make our annual visit to Na Piarsaigh, Cork, for the annual Under 11 Dee O’Leary Tournament. Good luck, lads! Good luck, mentors! Let’s pray for fine weather!

HANDBALL: Best wishes to Dara Keane who is Kerry’s only representative in the 60×30 All-Ireland Juvenile Handball Finals. The Under 15 B/mac player will take on Eoin Brennan (Kilkenny) on 1st November.
SHINTY: Well done to Kerry hurling star, Shane Nolan, who scored 2-0 for Ireland in last weekend’s SHINTY game v Scotland. Na hAlbanaigh were the victors and we hope for an Irish win next tine. Shinty is hurling, a game played in parts of Kerry. Did third division games in other codes in other countries got more coverage than this latest ‘international’?
