PEIL FAOI 6/8/10: (i) Sunday morning football will take place at 11am in CONNOLLY PARK.…note change of venue….and all parents/guardians are invited to an “all you can eat” breakfast in the clubhouse. That’ll be fun! (ii) Thursday football at the usual times…U6/8s at 5.45pm and U10s at 6.30pm.

‘BRACKER’ O’REGAN CUP: Round 1: Austin Stacks defeated Rock St and Rockies drew with Black’n’Amber. Round 2: Rock St defeated Black’n’Amber and Rockies drew with Austin Stacks. League Table: Austin Stacks…3 points; Rock St…2 points; Rockies…2 points; Black’n’Amber…1 point. Round 3 games to be played on Thursday 14th: Austin Stacks v Black’n’Ambers and Rockies v Rock St.

PEIL FAOI 13: (i) In last weekend’s Lee Strand UNDER 13 Football Tournament, which was a great success, our footballers were a little unlucky v Ballyboden/St Endas in the Billy Breen Shield final.

In the group round, our Rock boys lost to the eventual cup winners, Naas, but defeated Churchill and Galway’s Oranmore/Maree. At the next stage of the competition, they had an exciting 0-1 victory over Dublin’s Cluain Tarbh but, then, met the Ballyboden Dubs who were a mere 1-0 too good, despite heroic efforts from a brave Rock team that never yielded until the last tweet of feadóg an réiteora!

And, so, Oisín Murray and Evan Nugent took the Billy Breen Shield to the metropolis! Man-of-the-Match: Ciarán Kiely. Réiteoir: Paul Hayes.

Na Gaeil a bhuaigh Pláta Abbie Uí Ailín agus bronnadh an pláta ar a gcaptaen, Ciarán Ó Conchúir. Man-of-the-Match: Seán Ó Conchúir (Na Gaeil).

Réiteoir: George O’Donnell. The Naas Lily Whites were too strong for Salthill/Cnoc na Cathrach in the cup final and their captain, Daniel Lenihan, went off on the train with the Lee Strand Dinny O’Connor Cup.

Man-of-the-Match: Charlie Sheridan (Naas). Player of the Tournament: Liam O’Reilly (Naas). Kildare football seems to be doing well!! Referee: Paul Hayes. Well done, all….players, host families, parents, mentors and hard working organisers, officials and helpers.

The late Dinny O’Connor, who was fondly remembered and honoured by the ‘unveiling’ of his portrait in the clubhouse and by the renaming of the Lee Strand Cup in his honour, would have been delighted with the efficient running of the tournament in which sixteen teams (300++ players) participated. Thanks to our sponsors, Lee Strand.

(ii) Our Under 13 boys played away v Ardfert on Tuesday (12th) in the Town League. Well done, lads!

PEIL FAOI 16: (i) Following a Town League (Roinn 1) victory over Naomh Pádraig on Wednesday, we went down…3-10 to 3-7…to a better Na Gaeil side on Sunday. On Sunday next at 12.00 we’ll play v Ardfert in Connolly Park. (ii) Our Bs played their first competitive game this Wednesday (13th) v Churchill. Maith sibh, a bhuachaillí!
