ACADAMH na nÓG: Where it all begins! Our 2018 football action took off with great energy and enthusiasm on Sunday last and will continue every Sunday until the finer weather and the longer days will entice us to the outdoors. The groupings are as follows: (i) Under 6 Boys (born 2012/13) at 11am at the Mounthawk Gym.

We moved the time to 11am this year and, so, dá bhrí sin, no excuses for anybody staying in bed! Great to have our the great William Kirby at the helm again and he’s ably assisted by Keith McKensie, Johnathon Magnier, Brendan Smith and Wayne Quillinan.

(ii) Under 8 Boys (born 2011/2010) at 12.00 at the Mounthawk Gym. Really lovely football was playe by this skilful group of players. We are delighted to have Pa Laide in the cockpit once again and is being assisted by the ever faithful Mike Lynch, Micko Horan and Pat ODowd.

(iii) Under 10 Boys (born 2008/2009) at 11 am at the The Green (CBS) Astroturf Pitch. This is a big move for our Under 10s as they grow into superb footballers. Ger Power has taken up the reins again with Brian Shanahan, Dex Carmody, Laurence Cotter and Kieran O’Callaghan. What a session last Sunday morning! Sea, tá an bhunchloch á leagadh! Agus ár mbuíochas le Bainistíocht Mheánscoil na Faiche agus le Bainistíocht Mheánscoil Chnoc an tSeabhaic. [It’s possible that ‘MountHawk’ comes from ‘Móinteach’? Don’t they rhyme? A ‘móinteach’ is a ‘moorland’ or ‘heath’. There is no mount or hill (cnoc) in the Caherslee area!]

PEIL FAOI 12: Under 12 football training began in Na Cruaghoirt, Connolly Park, last Sunday with a very strong turnout. These boys are good! Training continues at 3pm on Sunday next. We welcome a new season! Fáilte roimh chách – newcomers most welcome.

FREWEN CUP: Tralee CBS has qualified for the semi-final of the Frewen Cup competition by virtue of a 7-12 to 2-12 victory over Pobalscoil Chorca Dhuibhne. Ba bhua iontach ar fad é sin! The Rock has ten players on the panel: Seán Quilter, Eoghan Carroll, Niall Fitzmaurice, Cian Purcell, Luke Chester, Armin Heinrich, Tom O’Farrell, Eoghan Healy and Charlie Curran. Tá súil le Dia againn go mbeidh an-bhliain ag an bhFaiche!
