CHURCH GATE COLLECTION: Our Annual Church gate collection takes place on this coming weekend (Nov 25/26th).

If anyone is still free to volunteer 20 minutes of their time to help us out on either the Saturday night or at any of the Sunday Masses it would be greatly appreciated. Please contact Club Secretary, Elma Nix on 086 1053300.

1977 REUNION: As part of our on-going Centenary Celebrations the Austin Stacks 1977 All Ireland Club Championship winning team will be honoured at a special evening in the Club on Saturday week  next  (Dec 2nd).  Everybody is invited to come along on the night for what promises to be a great night.

BEST OF LUCK: to former Club Footballers, John Murphy and his son Frankie who are about to reopen their Celsius Mensware business in the new location at Russell Street.

KIRBY’S BROGUE INN: All in the Club extend congratulations to the Kirby family on the occasion of the 40th anniversary of their business in Rock Street. The late Bill Kirby and his wife Mary began trading there in November1977 and over the years built up a national and international reputation. The famous & award winning pub at ‘The Bottom of The Rock’ is now managed by their daughter Fiona & her husband Kevin Cotter (Strictly Come Dancing Winner 2017).   We thank the Kirby/Cotter families for their continued support of the club both on and off the field and are proud that the links established 40 years ago between the Austin Stacks club and ‘The Brogue’ continue today. Go néirí libh!

CLUBHOUSE: As always the Clubhouse is available for all types of Parties and Functions. Enquiries about Club Bookings should be made by contacting Harry Hynes at 087 2467286.

CARDS: The 45 Card Sessions continue in the Clubhouse on every Monday and Thursday nights, commencing at 9.30pm each night.

LOTTO: Last week’s (13th November) Jackpot, worth €7,000, was not won. The numbers drawn were 1, 17, 19, 32. The €20 winners were: Deirdre Donaghy, Seán Power and Tommy Costello Snr., all c/o The Club; Kieran Horgan, c/o Carmel O’Neill; and John O’Connor, c/o Richard Healy.

Tickets are on regular sale at the Rock Street Post Office and at the Stacks Clubhouse, as well as from our other regular sellers.

SYMPATHY:  Sincere sympathy is offered to the families of the following who died recently – Grace Moran, Fairway Heights and formerly The Kerries; Patrick (Patsy) Lynch, Killeen Road (former Club Juvenile Hurler and Club Committee Member); Gretta Kerins (nee Lynch), Oakpark Demesne and formerly of Clahane, Ballyard; Michael Boston Clifford, St. Anne’s Bungalows and formerly of O’Rahilly’s Villas and London (uncle of former Club Footballers, Garrett and Michael Chips Clifford); and Bridie Kirby (nee Ross), Knockmoyle and formerly of Moybella, Lisselton.
