LÁ ‘LE PÁDRAIG: Tá an fhéile náisiúnta buailte linn…..Féile Naomh Pádraig, Aspal Éireann….ceiliúradh 1500 bliain na Críostaíochta in Éirinn. The Tralee St Patrick’s Day Parade will commence at 11.45am on Saturday next (17th) at the roundabout entrance to The Rose Hotel and will end in The Square i lár an bhaile.

Beidh ár bpeileadóirí ag máirseáil sa pharáid. We will have some family fun in The Square and in The Mall after the parade until approximately 2.30pm and, so, we are encouraging everybody to stay i lár an bhaile tar éis na paráide chun sult a bhaint as na himeachtaí. Please note that all juveniles marching in the parade must be accompanied by an adult. Expect text re arrangements.

PEIL FAOI 6/8/10: Peil an Domhnaigh mar is gnách: (i) Buachaillí faoi 6 (2012/13) ag 11am in the Mounthawk Gym. (ii) Buachaillí faoi 8 (2011/2010) ag 12.00 in the Mounthawk Gym. (iii) Buachaillí faoi 10 (2008/2009) ag 11am on the The Green (CBS) Astroturf Pitch (laistigh má bhíonn sé ag cur báistí). Ach…ach…this Sunday will be our final Sunday morning action at the above venues. We will return to Caherslee on March 25th.

PEIL FAOI 12: (i) Bhí seisiún iontach eile againn an tseachtain seo caite. We’re back in action again this coming Sunday morning in our own CONNOLLY PARK. Beimid ag obair go dian chun a bheith ullamh do na dúshláin mhóra atá romhainn. Chun oibre linn, a leaideanna! (ii) We were guests of Cnoc na hEaglaise for challenge matches last Friday evening. Both our A and B sides played very well in very testing conditions and showed that they had learned much from the Cork trip. Maith sibh! (iii) Training will be held on the Tralee CBS (The Green) Astroturf Pitch at 6pm on Tuesday. (iv) Arrangements for a challenge match on Monday next….Bank Holiday Monday (19ú Márta)….are being made and players will be notified. (Fair-play do lucht eagraithe an aoisghrúpa seo!)

PEIL FAOI 14: (i) Our Under 14 indoor training is being held in the club gym on Thursdays at 5.45pm. (ii) Our Sunday outdoor training venue is decided upon on a weekly basis…depending on the availability of the field in Connolly Park. The Tralee Harriers Field is at our disposal when required and, for that, gabhaimid mórbhuíochas le lucht na lúthchleasaíochta. (iii) TDB U14 League games: (a)

DIVISION 1: Our A team had a very convincing victory in their opening game v Ballymac. Our boys proved how much hard work and effort can pay off by giving a dazzling display of outstanding football and they showed true Rocky grit in their performance. Our A team also performed admirably v K-O’R but, faraor agus ochón, they came up a little short against a determained Strand Road side. We look forward to our challenge (back game) v Na Gaeil 2pm on Monday 19th March. (b) DIVISION 3: The Rock B boys had very satisfactory win in their 1st round game against Ballymac. They clearly showed, mar is dual do pheileadóirí na Carraige, how much good preparation, hard work and diligence can pay off when they gave a fine team performance. Our B team secured a place in the Division 3 Town League final with a very assured win v Strand Road last Saturday evening in Ballyrickard. The overall team performance was heart-warming as all players showed their ball-winning ability and showcased their many footballing skills.

PEIL FAOI 15: Beimid ag taisteal go Mainistir Fhearmaí i gCorcaigh ar an 24ú Márta for the annual Pa O’Brien Tournament. Tá gach imreoir ag súil go mór leis an turas.

PEIL FAOI 16: (i) ‘Well done’ to the members of our Under 16 squad who did a valuable session of fundraising i lár an bhaile last Saturday….obair chrua! Thanks, also, to all who supported our Under 16 flag day. Úsáidfear gach aon leathphingin ar pheileadóírí an aoisghrúpa seo! (ii) Training for our Under 16 players will take place on Fridays and on Sundays. (iii) The Central League will commence on March 26th and we will have two teams competing, the A team in division 1 and the B team indivision 3. The As will play Laune Rangers in the first round and the Bs will be in action v St Pats. Ar aghaidh linn!

CORN UÍ MHUIRÍ: Briseadh croí! Comhbhrón le Seán Cuiltéir, Dáithí Mac Muiris, Eoghan Ó Cearúíll, Dónal Ó Ruairc agus Seán Ó Céilleachair. Cé gur dhein siad a seacht ndícheall, níor éirigh leo i gComórtas Chorn Uí Mhuirí v Pobalscoil Chorca Dhuibhne.

SCÓR na bPÁISTÍ: (i) Beidh Scór na bPáistí do Bhordcheantar Thrá Lí ar siúl i nGaelscoil Mhic Easmainn, Ráth Rónáin ag 6.30pm ar an Máirt seo chugainn, 20ú Márta. Beidh Aoife Trant (amhránaíocht aonair) agus Abi Nic Conmara (scéalaíocht) in iomaíocht ar ár son. Guímid gach rath orthu beirt. Why not go along to support them and enjoy a good night’s entertainment? (ii) The county semi-final will be held at 4pm on Saturday April 7th. (iii) The county finals will take place at 2pm on Sunday April 22nd i Halla Pobail na Faille Móire. The county final quiz (are 4 volunteers emerging to represent us!) will be held at 11am on Sunday April 22nd; quiz venue to be confirmed.

SEANFHOCAIL SHEACHTAIN NA GAEILGE: (i) Beatha teanga í a labhairt (a language only lives if spoken); (ii) Tír gan teanga, tír gan anam (a country without its language is a country without a soul). BAIN TRIAIL AS CÚPLA FOCAL GAEILGE an tseachtain seo…..ah, gwan…chance it!!

SCÓR NA SINSEAR ’18: ‘Well done’ to The Rock set dancers who, despite performing brilliantly in the Munster Senior Scór finals on Saturday last, came a very creditable second. Rinceoirí na Carraige: Seán Ó Floinn, Bernie Uí Mhainchín, Éamonn Ó Raghallaigh, Tracey Mhic Liam, Maidhc Ó Muirthile, Eibhlín Mhic Ionnrachtaigh, Tadhg Ó Miacháin, Siobhán Uí Chathasaigh. They narrowly missed out on a place in the All-Ireland. Comhchairdeachas leo uile ar a gcuid iarrachtaí i mbliana. ‘An Mhumhain’ arís an bhliain seo chugainn! Máistir rince: Mícheál Ó Murchú. (Bhí Mícheál ar an bhfoireann a shroich Craobh na hÉireann timpeall 30 bliain ó shin!)

CAMPAÍ ‘CÚL’: (i) Hurling camp in Caherslee from 13th to 17th August. (ii) Football camp in Connolly Park from 2nd to 6th July.

BEANNACHTAÍ na Féile Pádraig ar bhaill agus ar chairde an chlub.
