END OF SEASON:

Junior Football: Our B team had a reasonably good season culminating in winning two out of the four trophies in which they contested – winning of the Junior Co. Championship (The McElligott Cup) and the Town League. They had a good win against Rathmore in the McElligott Cup Final (2-18 to 2-7) and an equally comprehensive win against Ardfert in the Town League Final (1-18 to 1-6).

In the other two competitions contested they were narrowly defeated by Gneeveguilla (0-8 to 0-7) in the opening round of the Molyneaux Cup and ended in 5th position (out of 8) in the Co. League (Div 5) table.

They played a total of 14 games throughout the season – winning 7 and losing 7. A total of 54 players lined out over the course of the season is proof of the necessity of having second teams in a Club to provide playing time for as many players as possible.

U21 Football: Our U21s had the minimum of activity this year, playing just one game – the first round of the Co. Championship. In that game they were unlucky to go down to Dingle by just one point (0-14 to 2-7). An indication of how good our U21s were this year was the progress Dingle made thereafter – reaching the final which they lost to East Kerry.

Next week we will deal with Minor Football, then Hurling the following week and finally Senior Football on the week after.
