ROCK & ROSE VICTORY SOCIAL: The Rock & Rose Victory Social final preparations being made this week ahead of our hugely anticipated Club social this Saturday Feb 22nd at the Rose Hotel and with over 200 tickets now sold its sure to be a night to remember.

Best Dressed Lady: 2 tickets to Dirty Dancing The Muscial sponsored by The INEC plus a bottle of Prosecco & Chocolates

Best Dressed Gent: €200 voucher sponsored by Celsius Menswear and over 30 spot prizes must be won on the Night.

Billy Ryle, Club Chairman, is making a final appeal to Club supporters and their guests to purchase their tickets as soon as possible.

Siobhan Power, Chairperson of our Social Sub Committee and her team have left no stone unturned in their efforts to organise what is sure to be a superb event.

A great night of dining and dancing is assured where tribute will be paid to the players and mentors, who brought outstanding success to The Rock in 2019.

The night kicks off with a Champagne reception at 7.30pm, followed by Dinner at 8.30pm. Music will be provided by ‘Heart & Soul’ followed by DJ Francie Breen. Tickets at €35 each will be on sale all week.

NATIONAL CLUB DRAW: The National Club draw is now closed: Thanks to everyone who supported the draw & we wish all of you the best of luck in the raffle which takes place on March 12th. Special thanks to Club Officer Bernie Mannix who oversaw our ticket sales.

BALLOONAGH FUNDRAISER: Club Chairman, Billy Ryle would like to thank everyone who supported the Scoil Eoin, Balloonagh Primary School Valentine’s Ball which took place to raise funds to develop playgrounds and playing areas around the new school structure. The Ball took place in Ballygarry House Hotel on last Friday.

SENIOR FOOTBALL: Due to the continuing inclement weather at the weekend our Town League game against Kerins O’Rahillys had to be postponed. No date has been set for the refixture as we write.

In the meantime our third round game  – away to John Mitchels – is due to go ahead on this Friday night (21st Feb) at 8.15pm. The Town League Final is still down for decision on Sunday, 1st March.

We have been grouped with Dingle, Killarney Legion and Kilcummin in this season’s Club Championship which will be played during the month of April.

MINOR FOOTBALL: The weather is also playing havoc with our Minor fixtures. Our opening game in the Co. League (at home to Rathmore) had to be postponed last Saturday because of Storm Dennis. No new date has been fixed for this game as we write.

In the meantime our Town League game against Kerins O’Rahillys has been refixed for next Tuesday evening (25th Feb) in Connolly Park with the throw-in time still to be confirmed. Round 2 of the Co. League (away to Dr. Crokes) is still scheduled to go ahead on the following Saturday (29th Feb).

CLOTHES RECYCLING COLLECTION: A big thank you to everyone who donated items to our annual clothes recycling fundraiser which took place last Saturday. Thanks to Bernie, Elma, Annette & Anthony for their help in organising same.

CLUBHOUSE: As always the Clubhouse is available for all types of Parties and Functions. Enquiries about Club Bookings should be made by contacting Harry Hynes at 087 2467286.
Bar opening hours are as follows: 7pm to 12.30am on Thursdays, Fridays, Saturdays and Mondays, and 12 noon to 11pm on Sundays.

CARDS: The 45 Card Sessions continue in the Clubhouse on every Monday and Thursday nights, commencing at 9.30pm each night.

LOTTO: Last Night’s (17th February) Jackpot, worth €13,200, was not won. The numbers drawn were 2, 11, 17, 30.

The €20 winners were: Emer Uí Hogáin and Geraldine McLoughlin, both c/o Rock Street Post Office; John Healy, c/o Richard Healy; Alain Creagh, c/o The Club; and Justyma Stepnik, c/o Carmel O’Neill.

Lotto Tickets are on regular sale at the Rock Street Post Office and at the Stacks Clubhouse, as well as from our other regular outlets. And from now on tickets will also be on sale at Kevin Barry’s Shop in Rock Street.

We continue to remind members that we are in competition with other clubs until April 2020 to retain our very important Lotto Franchise at our local post office on Rock St.

Every time you are in the post office let Martin and staff know that you are a Rockie and to register your transaction in favour of Austin Stacks. The Club with the most points will win the franchise.
