MARCH IN THE PAST: (22nd to 31st). On the field of play  during the last week in March 1998 (22nd to 31st  incl) our Minor Hurlers had a brilliant two points win (3-4 to 0-11) in Connolly Park over a fancied St. Brendans side in round 2 of the Co. League. Our team – Andy McAllen, Pádraig Sugrue, Jonathan O’Regan (1-0), Brian Phelan, Mark O’Regan, TJ Hogan, Eoghan Kirby, Pádraig McMahon (1-0), Kevin Walsh (1-3), Stephen Enright, Shane O’Callaghan (0-1), Keith Greensmyth, Michael Ashe, Tamar O’Carroll, Damien Leane. Subs used: Andrew Dineen, Jeremiah Moriarty.

Our Senior Footballers had good wins in 2001 (25th) against Kilcummin in the opening round of the Co. League (0-13 to 0-6) and against Kerins O’Rahillys in 2009 (22nd) in the final of the Town League (2-11 to 2-6). And in 2005 (26th) it was the turn of our B team to get one over Strand Road in the second round of that season’s Co. League (1-11 to 0-10).

Off the pitch in 1990 (30th) the Club had one of its best Race Nights ever, organized by the one and only Jim Gannon. Then in 2004 (29th) building commenced on our new Dressingrooms and the year after (2005) we had a Major Poker Classic in those very new Dressingrooms (25th March). Fast forward then to 2018 (29th) when the Club was presented with the MacNamee Award for the best new Digital Initiative produced by Rory Kirby.

Finally the last week in March in 2002 (23rd) saw the passing of Tom Mangan (father of current Club Executive, Colm) at the age of  90. Tom was a former Club Treasurer and was one of the great Club and Kerry supporters of his day.
