During the same week, four years later (2nd Oct. 1932) our Senior Hurlers won their 3rd Co. Twenty two players were on that winning panel, nine of which are listed above in the 1928 winning football team. Go to page 244 of our Centenary Book for that list of 22 on the Hurling team.

Two outstanding players of the late nineties/early naughties made their Senior Championship debuts on 5th Oct. 1997 – Peter Quillinan and Billy Sheehan.

Two deaths of note during this week in the past included Una Stack (nee Gordon/Cassidy), widow of Austin Stack , who died on 3rd Oct. 1950 and Sister Fabien, Balloonagh Convent who passed away on 7th Oct. 2000 (six years before Sister Fabien composed a song to celebrate our 1994 Co.
