MEMBERSHIP 2022:  Club Registrar, Bernie Mannix, wishes to thank everyone who have paid their Membership for 2022. She wishes to remind everyone who have not paid that they are no longer in weekly Lotto draw and that they will not be eligible for All Ireland tickets should Kerry get to the final.

SENIOR FOOTBALL: Dr. Crokes 1-11; Austin Stacks 2-10.

With the home side on second spot on the League table and ourselves in third position going into this postponed round 6 game of the Co. League at Lewis Road on a sunny, summers Friday evening (27th May) it was bound to be a well contested affair, and so it turned out to be. The sides were level at half time (1-6 each) and in the second half both sides had five scores each, the difference being all Crokes scores were points while one of our five scores was a Seán Quilter goal in the 42nd minute.

All our eighteen players played brilliantly with our defenders keeping an always dangerous Crokes forward line under control.

Gearóid Fitzgerlad opened the scoring inside the second minute and then the lead changed hands on seven different occasions before the break. Apart from Cian Purcell who put over a long-distant point in the 15th minute all our other scores came from Seán Quilter. Three of his four points came from play with his goal coming from a well-taken 25th minute penalty.

Seán was again our chief scorer in the second half scoring 1-2 of our 1-4 scores – our other two points coming from Gearóid Fitzgerald and a well-taken Conor Horan free. Sean, of course, was the Celsius Mensware Man of the Match.

Team: Wayne Guthrie, Barry Walsh, Barry Shanahan, Joey Nagle, Adam Curran, Luke Chester, Niall Fitzmaurice, Ronan Shanahan, Greg Horan, Gearóid Sheehan, Fiachna Mangan (Capt),Conor Horan (0-1 free),  Seán Quilter (2-6 – one penalty goal; two frees), Gearóid Fitzgerald (0-2), Cian Purcell (0-1).

Subs used: Jordan Kissane (42m), Dara Barry Walsh (44m), John Carmody (58m).

We now understand that our next Co. League game is a round 9 game away to Ballymac on the w/e of the 12th June with our round 8 game at home to O’Rahillys on Saturday, 18th June at 7pm..

KERRY FOOTBALL: Well done to Kerry, winning their 83rd Munster SF Final last Saturday (28th May) and great also to see our own Dylan Casey making his Senior Championship debut after Joe O’Connor made his in the semi final against Cork three weeks before that (7th May).
