SCÓR NA nÓG

We were represented at the Tralee District Scór na nÓg competitions in Connolly Park last week by Cáit Ní Dhuibhir, Aisling Ní Laoire, Pádraigín Gutteridge, Éabha Nic Craith, Cloe Nic Giolla Phádraig and Cloe Ní Liatháin in rince; and by Emily Heaslip and Ella Nic Gabhann in singing. Thanks to everybody who made the great effort. Buíochas le Mícheál Ó Murchú as ucht a chuid oibre leis na rinceoirí. Agus, sa quiz, beidh Orla O’Reilly, Niamh McMahon, Donagh McMahon agus Oisín Liostún in iomaíocht ar son an chlub around 12th November. If anyone would like to help them with questions, please pass them on to them.

TINY TOTS UNDER 6/8: (i) What a Sunday morning of football in Caherslee! Indeed, the day of the Jimmy Barry Cup final is always a great day! We had marching, music and medals as part of our grand finale. Danny Lane received the Jimmy Barry Cup on behalf of his team. Well done, boys! Former stars, William Kirby and Pa Laide, were overjoyed with the high level of skill by our youngsters! ‘No deeds like these have I seen in Croker!’ Pa was overheard saying to William. William agreed! Sin moladh! (ii) Agus, leis sin, we’ll take a break from football until our Presentation (and 2017 Calendar) Day in Mí na Nollag. Coimeád spás don gcóisir!

PEIL FAOI 10: (i) 

Last weekend we had the culmination of our football year with the running of the John Lynch Memorial Under 10 Tournament. The event was a great success. 8 pitches, 8 senior Kerry referees, 8 clubs, 16 teams and glorious weather! Outstanding football was played by players from Kilmacud Crokes, St Finbarr’s, Glanmire, Listowel, Milltown-Castlemaine, Churchill, Ardfert and our own men from The Rock. A great time was had by all and our stalwarts were defeated in the final by Kilmacud Crokes. ‘Well done’ to organizers, support team, players and parents. (ii) We’ll take a break from football until our Presentation (and 2017 new Calendar) Day in Mí na Nollag. Save the appetite for the party!

PEIL FAOI 11 

We were well represented at Na Piarsaigh Club Under 11 Tournament in Cork. A strong Rock team travelled, competed and won the laurels….the O’Leary Trophy. GAELSCOIL ROCKITES

Comhghairdeachas le Lúcás O Cathasaigh, Seán Ó Duagáin, Conchúr Ó Duagáin, Cian Ó Duilleáin, Conchúr Ó Ciarba, Marc Ó Loingsigh, Lúcás Mac Gearailt, Conchúr Ó Luasaigh agus Gabhnach Ó Cathasaigh who were part of the victorious Gaelscoil Mhic Easmainn team that overcame Gaelscoil Aogáin (Oileán Ciarraí) in the Cumann na mBunscol (Bunscoileanna: Roinn 3) football final. I mbun na foirne bhí Colm Ó hAiniféin, Déaglán Ó Cuill agus Cormac Ó Cofaigh.

PEIL FAOI 15: (i)

Well done’ to our lads who won the SuperTouch final against Milltown-Castlemaine last Thursday. Mighty! They defeated Legion and Kenmare and drew with the Gaeltacht on the way! Ar fheabhas, a leaideanna! Tá peileadóirí den scoth sa ghrúpa seo! (ii) in the Bordcheantar Thrá Lí (Faoi 15) competition we pipped Club Naomh Pádraig on Monday 31st. We’ll play in the final at 6.30pm this Friday (4th) in Caherslee. Opposition: K-O’R or B/mac.

Foireann na Carraige a bhuaigh the Bordcheantar Thrá Lí Divison 2 Football Final v K-O’R: David Oba; Luke Chester, Donagh Mac Mathúna, James Quigley; Páraic Linnane, Dylan Ó Cathasaigh, Jack McGrath; Gearóid Mac Gearailt, Seán Quilter; Dean Scanlon, Gearóid Ó Síocháin, Joseph Looby; Michael Slattery, David Couchman, Daniel O’Rourke. Fir ionaid: Ben Quilter, Tom O’Farrell, Charlie Curran, Craig Ó Tíocháin, Danny Draghici, Eoghan Carroll, Conor Myers, Dara de Barra-Breathnach, Cian Puirséil.

THE GREEN

The Green footballers defeated Rochestown College in the U15 ‘A’ Munster Football Semi-final on Thursday last. Well done, boys! They will now face The Sem in the final on 16thNovember. Best wishes to our lads: Ben Quilter, Armin Heinrich, Niall Mac Muiris, Cian Puirséil, Eoin Healy, Luke Chester, Greg Ó Scannláin, Jordan Ó Cíosáin, Conchúr Ó hÓráin.

CNOC a’tSEABHAIC:

Sympathies to a good bunch of Under 15 lads from Mercy Mount Hawk who were unlucky v Clonakilty in the Munster quarter final. The Rockmen on board were Adam Curran, Mervin Shalemba, Shane Bastible and Joey Nagle. Beidh la eile acu, LCD!
