FAOI 6: UNDER 6 boys (born in 2013/14) will be training in the Mounthawk Gym at 11am. The coaching team of Mickey Collins, Tim McMahon, John Magnier Finbarr Canty, Danny Maguire, and Brendan Smith were very happy with last weekend’s session. Well done, all! They’d still love to get more players, though. All beginners most welcome.

FAOI 8: The UNDER 8s (boys born in 2011/12) will be in action in the Mounthawk Gym at 12.00 on Sunday morning next. Wayne Quillinan, Colm Mangan, Michael Lynch, Micko Horan, Keith McKensie and Noel Healy were delighted with the football abilities of their charges last weekend.

FAOI 10: UNDER 10 boys will play on The Green CBS Astroturf pitch at 11am. Pa Laide, John Canty, Laurence Cotter and Mike McCannon were well pleased with their players and would welcome anybody who hasn’t resumed yet this season or lads who might like to join The Rock.

CLOTHES for RECYCLING: The club fundraising clothes’ recycling collection day/date is Saturday February 9th. We’d be grateful for all clothes’ donations. If you wish to leave bags of clothes at the clubhouse before the 9th, please ring 085 2235857. Bígí ag bailiú libh, le bhur dtoil! Beimid buíoch i gcónaí as ucht bhur gcuid tacaíochta.

FAOI 12: Training again on Sunday next in Connolly Park as the UNDER 12 group continues its preparations for the season ahead. Please contact Liam on 0876189655 for details of training time or of the coming season’s planned activities. Everybody welcome – fáilte roimh chách – new as well as established players – just come along to The Rock field. Mentors Ger Power, Liam Lynch, Morgan O’Connell, Mike Casey, Shane Lynch, Dex Carmody, Ciarán Murphy, Batty Bastible, Richie Conway agus Theo Ó Duigín are very excited about the season ahead!

FAOI 14: Buachaillí Faoi 14, bígí ag súil le téacs maidir le hullmhúcháin for the annual Nemo Rangers Tournament in Cork. Planners of this year’s games, etc, are William Kirby, Wayne Guthrie, Ritchie Conway, Dale Counihan, Éamonn Heaslip, Dave Scanlon and Ronan Kavanagh.

SCÓR NA bPÁISTÍ: (i) The Scór na bPáistí (for primary school pupils) Tralee area final will be held on Wednesday 13th March in Gaelscoil Mhic Easmainn, Ráth Rónáin. Competitions: rince sean-nóis, figure dancing, set dance, solo singing, recitation, ballad group, music group, léiriú/sketch, tráth na gceisteanna.Competitors urgently needed for all these competitions – anois do  sheans! (ii) The county semi-finals for North Kerry will be held on Saturday March 23rd at 4pm in St Josephs Secondary School, Castleisland. (iii) The semi-finals for the Southern Region will be held on Sunday March 24th in Halla Pobail na Faille Móire (Uíbh Ráthach) ag 2pm. (iv) The county finals, including the quiz, have been fixed for Saturday April 6thin the Glenbeigh Community Centre (provisional venue).

FAOI 16: Our first training session of the year, on Sunday morning last, went very well. ‘Twas nice to see 21 hardy souls braving the somewhat arctic conditions. Everybody welcome, of course – fáilte roimh chách – new as well as all established players. Depending on availability of cars and on tide times, we may head for Banna Beach to do some beach running some Sunday mornings. So, a bhuachaillí, please bring runners as well as football boots. Expect text/WhatsApp re details. Táimid ag treabhadh linn arís! Our management team of Edward O’Connor, Denis Sayers, Pat Slattery, Armin Heinrich and Frankie Murphy were very satisfied with the early season commitment shown by their players. Well done, boys!

MEÁNSCOILEANNA – FREWEN CUP: ‘Well done’ to the Mercy Mounthawk boys who, following a fine victory over PCD, have qualified for the semi-final of the Frewen Cup competition. Fir ó Na Stacaigh ar an bpainéal: Joey Nagle, Adam Curran, Dean Rusk, Shane Bastible. Unfortunately, The Green team was defeated by St Flannan’s College. Ben Quilter, Ruairí O’Connell, Armin Heinrich, Conor Horan and Jordan Kissane were the Meánscoil na mBráithre representatives….beidh lá eile ag an bPaor.

SCÓR NA SINSEAR ‘19: (i) The Tralee final of Senior Scór (17 years old or older on 1-1-’19) has been scheduled for Na Gaeil clubhouse this Thursday (31st) at 8.30pm. The county finals will be held in the Marian Hall, Moyvane, on Friday February 8th, starting at 7pm. The Munster semi-finals will take place on Saturday February 23rd in the Community Centre, Ovens, County Cork. The Munster finals will be on Saturday March 2nd in Cork’s City Hall. The All-Ireland finals will be held in the ‘Travellers’ Friend’ Theatre, Castlebar, County Mayo, on Saturday April 13th. (ii) The date/venue for the county quiz final is to be fixed later. Quiz teams can go directly to the county final.
