PEIL FAOI 12: (i) Our As (Division 1A) and Bs (Division B) played at home v Ballymac on Sunday last (5th). (ii)Our C Team (Division 9) played as baile v An Daingean on Sunday last (5th).
PEIL FAOI 12: We are proud to state that we had three Under 12 Rock teams in action last weekend….ní beag an méid sin! (i) Sunday evening saw the visit of Ballymac for the final matches of Divisions 1A. B/mac had proven to be a quality outfit! Our A team knew that they faced a big task against the previously unbeaten visitors and would have to be at their very best to win the game and, as a result, the County League.
Right from the throw in, our warriors produced a top class display of heads up football, support play, leadership and excellent tacking. When the final whistle blew, the Black’n’Amber lads were in front on a scoreline of 3-16 to 0-3.
It would be unfair to pick out any single player as this was a great team performance and it was our third successive county final victory (Division 1A, phase 1). (ii) Ballymac Bs also arrived for the final matches of Divisions 1B. Our B team produced a great display of heart, resilience and their now customary “never-say-die” attitude.
Well behind after a slow start, they fought their way back into it and only had a kick of a ball separated the teams at the finish…5-9 to 4-9. Fííúúú! Mighty!
(iii) Monday saw our Division 9 team visit An Daingean – many thanks to all parents who brought their boys out….great to see such huge numbers. Despite the locals coming out in front, the motto of “the result doesn’t matter, it’s how we play“ was foremost in everybody’s mind and everyone gave it his very best, trying his heart out to the end mar is dual don Stacach!! (iv) On Sunday next (12th) everyone will be heading to Kilmacud Crokes for their blitz – 4 teams from every province, with the Rockies fielding 2 squads. Go n-éirí go geal libh, a bhuachaillí na Carraige!

PEIL FAOI 14: (i) Our As (Division 1) travelled to Kilcummin on Wednesday (1st) and came home with maximun points in the County League. Sin 5 as 5! Éacht! This fine result puts our boys on top of the ladder and ensures home advantage in the semi-final. (i) The U14B team, with a strong performance in Keel, secured top spot in the league phase of Division 9A and secured home advantage for the County League semi-final.
After Captain Dylan Cunningham won the toss and opted to play with a strong breeze, the team gave a strong attacking display and scored 5-11 in the first half. Keel/Listry battled back in the second half against a strong Rock defence but were unable to bridge the gap. The match finished with The Rock boys ahead…5-21 to 3-4.

DÓNAL WALSH TOURNAMENT: Our U15 boys took part in the Dónal Walsh LiveLife Tournament in Strand Road last Saturday. We were in a group with Strand Road, John Mitchels and Father Caseys.
We won one of our group games and came up a little short on the other two but enjoyed our day and showed some great skill and pride in the jersey during all our games. All our lads played well on the day and a special mention goes to Conor Kirby who played in goals for the three games.

PEIL FAOI 16: (i) Congratulations to our Under 16 braves who achieved a fine victory with a great performance v Laune Rangers in the Division 1 Central League Final i bPáirc Aibhistín de Staic on Monday last.
It was a very entertaining game and was watched by a sizeable crowd. The encounter produced an outstanding team display by the young men of The Rock as well as some brilliant individual performances from Ben Quilter in goals, Ruairí O’Connell, Joey Nagle, Josh Lynch, Armin Heinrick and a Man-of-the-Match performance from Dean Rusk.
The Final final score: 1-10 to 4-9. What excitement as our Under 16s followed the example of Wayne’s (Senior) Warriors! Winning can be contagious and infectious! Well done, players and management.
(ii) Due to the A final taking place on Monday our Division 3 game v Churchill was rescheduled for Wednesday evening.
(iii) Training this week will be on Wednesday and Friday evenings with starting times of 6.15pm (18:15).
(iv) Continued success to our seven U16 warriors who are working hard as part of the North Kerry Development Squad and who were involved in a challenge game v Mayo on Saturday last in Limerick IT: Ruairí Ó Conaill, Dean Rusk, Shane Bastible, Ben Cuiltéir, Joey Nagle, Armin Heinrich and Jordan Kissane.
