PEIL FAOI 6/8/10: (i) No…no…no football next Sunday because of the Kerry/Dublin All-Ireland replay on Saturday evening (when Kerry will be fighting for the Sam Maguire Cup) and also because the U9 boys will be heading to the St Finbarr Club Tournament i gCorcaigh (where The Rock will be fighting for the Canty Cup).

(ii) No…no…no John Mitchel Club blitz, either…..on hold ‘till Kerry’ll be finished with the Dubs!

(iii) We’ll have our usual U6/8/10 football sessions at 5.45pm (17:45) on THURSDAY evening and these sessions will continue until the end of September.

(iv) We had some epic encounters with Laune Rangers in Caherslee on Sunday last. Mighty football was played! The Laune boys will make a return visit Na Cruaghoirt in a few weeks.

(v) Our friends from Legion, Cill Airne, will be visiting us on October 6th (Domhnach).

PEIL FAOI 12: (i) U12 training on Tuesdays and Thursdays.

(ii) U12 Central League fixtures: we had two fine games i bPáirc Uí Chonghaile v Ballymac….our As and Bs played the ‘Blue’n’Gold’. Well done, boys!

(iii) Upcoming events: (a) our lads will be taking part in the Templeogue/Synge St Club U12 Tournament on Sunday next (15ú); (b) we’ll travel to Oranmore, Galway, for their blitz peile ar an 21ú Meán Fómhair (Satharn).

PEIL FAOI 13: (i): We played v Cnoc na hEaglaise (Churchill) on Tuesday last in the Town League. Maith sibh, a leaideanna! Ár bpainéal v Cnoc na hEaglaise: Steven Conway; James Fisher, Max Nosidiak, Barry Nagle; Seán Heaslip, Daniel Kirby, Pádraig O’Halloran; Gavin Ó Cathasaigh, Luke Fitzgerald; Ciarán Kavanagh (an captaen), Paddy Lane, Rónán O’Carroll; Jake O’Connor, Ryan Ó Drisceoil, Marc Ó Loingsigh; Leon O’Connor, Tomás Deregee, Bao Foley, David Slattery, Ben Murphy, Fionnán Ó Riain.

(ii) Another well-organised and very successful U13 Dinny O’Connor Lee Strand Football Tournament was held last weekend in our own Connolly Park. Paddy Allen of Na Piarsaigh, Cork, and brother of the late Abie Allen presented Na Gaeil captain, Seán Bairéad, with the Abie Allen Plate and the Player-of-the-Match award to Liam Cúipéir, Na Gaeil.

(b) Billy Breen Memorial Shield:- Nás na Ríogh: 2-11; Oranmore/Maree (Gaillimh): 4-10. Éanna Costello, captain of Oranmore, was presented with the Billy Breen Shield. Harry Kealy, Oranmore, received the Player-of-the-Match award. (c) Denis O’Connor/Lee Strand Cup Final:- Cluain Tarbh (BÁC): 3-8; Austin Stack Club: 2-9.

Though pipped by a mere 0-2, our young braves made an heroic fight-back after a slow opening but the skill, courage and determination that they showed was truly Rock-like! Peter Keane will be looking for some of these lads in a few years! Jerry O’Dwyer, Lee Strand, Nóra O’Connor and Mike Lynch (Austin Stack Club juvenile secretary) presented Clontarf captain, Luke O’Boyle, with the Cup.

Jerry O’Dwyer presented the Player-of-the-Match award to Senan Ryan of Clontarf. Joe Sheppard of Clontarf was the Player-of-the-Tournament and he was presented with the James Hobbert Memorial trophy by Nóra O’Connor.

PEIL FAOI 14: ‘Well done’ to our six U14 boys who had great success with the NKDS (North Kerry Development Squad) last weekend in Galway. They played three games and won all three. Éacht! Ár bpeileadóirí ar an bpainéal: Noah Townsend, Colm de Brún, Togor Silong, Séimí Ó Sé, Jack Ó Murchú, Damien Ó hÓgáin. Maith sibh, a leaideanna!

PEIL FAOI 16: Next on our agend is the U16 Town League. Fixtures will be announced later.
